Admittedly I don't think the main attraction is the food as much as the experience. Why do I say this? The one time I've been in a Maid Cafe was at a convention in Raleigh, NC. I got this little strawberry cake and a coffee, and while it was really good tasting, it was really small, especially with me being a big dude. But the experience there was the best part! I was seated with three other people, managed to get a pic with one of the maids(for $1), and there was even a live dance performance!

Ignorance is all I see in that article. 1. What does a designer's fashion sense have to do with fascism in the first place? 2. In most militaristic anime, the military itself and the government are viewed as the bad guys. And if you do find one fascist author, how is that a representation of Japan or the anime industry as a whole? 3. What does modern day authors have to do with World War II? Most of them weren't even alive then. How are they responsible for acts their ancestors who are already dead committed? And I'm pretty sure we nuked them, which kinda made us even. 4. The entire militaristic culture they had for centuries... after being demilitarized by us... took a drastic shift and change. Current Japan is nothing like pre-WWII Japan. 5. ANIME IS FICTION!!!! I wonder if the author of that article actually believed what they were saying. Or if they were just seeing how far they could stretch it, and see who would believe it and go along with it.
