The word "antichrist" appears in just three passages in the Bible (in the New Testament letters known as 1 John and 2 John); it does not appear at all in the Book of Revelation. Nevertheless, the idea of an Antichrist is central to the apocalyptic world view that sees human history as a struggle between God and Satan for the fate of mankind. According to most Christian prophesies of the End Time, the Antichrist will act as Satan's chief agent on earth during this period. The Antichrist who is a sort of evil twin of Jesus in many ways like will forge a one-world government through promises of peace. But when Jesus returns, he will expose the Antichrist as an impostor, defeat him in the battle of Armageddon, and reign with the Christian martyrs for a thousand years on earth. The modern apocalypticists believe the Book of Revelation "contains much information about the Antichrist who will emerge as a 'beast from the sea' to be Satan's ally in a last, desperate assault on Christ and his church." This "parody and mirror opposite of Christ" will be identifiable in a number of ways; Promising peace to those who follow him, he will rise to a position of great power. With the help of his own false prophet, the Antichrist will gain control of the world economy, by forcing each person "to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name . . . six hundred and sixty-six". One of the heads of the beast also "seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth followed the beast with wonder."

Been doing a little personal project. I simulated 2X and 3X S&P 500 leverage ETF's going back to 1957. Why 1957? That's when the modern S&P 500 started. Leverage ETF's rebalance every day so there is tracking error. But whatever, that's too technical for here. If one can stomach the level of volatility. Leverage S&P 500 ETF's way outperform the market. First graph is scaled regularly. But because of exponential growth. The 1X S&P 500 looks tiny in comparison. So I had to rescale in log base 10.

Should Tier Lists Exist For Competitive Games? Is Balance Boring?

The meta can be seen as a natural result of a competitive environment. As players explore and experiment with different strategies, some approaches may prove to be more effective than others. This leads to a convergence on certain optimal strategies, forming the meta. In this sense, the meta can be seen as a reflection of the game's depth and complexity, as players continuously push the boundaries of what is possible.
From a competitive standpoint, the meta is often associated with high-level play. It represents the most refined and optimized strategies that experienced players have developed through rigorous testing and analysis. These strategies can be intellectually engaging and rewarding for those seeking a competitive challenge. In this context, the meta can enhance the longevity of a game by providing an ongoing incentive for players to improve and adapt.
However, the existence of a dominant meta can also lead to certain drawbacks. It can limit the diversity of viable strategies and playstyles, potentially discouraging experimentation and creativity. If only a few options are deemed viable, it may create an imbalance and exclude certain characters, strategies, or playstyles from being competitive. This can alienate players who prefer alternative approaches and lead to frustration or dissatisfaction.
Striking a balance between a well-defined meta and diverse gameplay options can be challenging for game developers. Ideally, developers should aim to create a game with multiple viable strategies and playstyles, encouraging experimentation and accommodating different player preferences. This can be achieved through continuous balance updates, introducing new content, and fostering a healthy feedback loop with the player community.
Ultimately, it is important for developers to consider the desires and needs of their player base. Some players enjoy the pursuit of mastering the meta and engaging in high-level play, while others prefer a more open and varied experience. Finding ways to accommodate both groups and provide a dynamic and evolving gameplay environment can contribute to the longevity and success of a franchise.
TL;DR
Sometimes different game modes or side quests can save a game or make them better.
