Alodeus feels himself trembling and clutching onto his baby tighter, only snapping himself out of his frenzied thoughts at the sound of Mikeal whimpering and calling his name, shaking away the unsettled feelings in favor of cuddling in bed with his babies and keeping watch the rest of the night. After that night, Alodeus spent time taking extra precautions to keep his family safe. There were many hours spent working on security, upgrading alarms and writing down contingency after contingency just in case the worst case scenario actually did happen. All those nights spent in his bedroom losing sleep because his mind wouldn't—couldn't settle down, started driving the man half mad. I mean, there was nothing to show for his efforts besides a lack of sleep and a defensive attitude, his icy blue eyes bloodshot as he cradled his infant close to his breast's every night and stared out the window, watching and waiting for that mysterious figure to return–only for the shadows of the night to reward his caution with cruel jokes as they danced across the edges of his eyes, forming into what to Alodeus looked like cloaked figures and outstretched hands, waiting to snatch his baby away from him. It was after the third week of not finding anything that he tried to return to normal, taking a vacation with his family just like Alfred suggested doing. The man mentioned something about Gotura's air not being good for the brain. But, despite how drained, tired and exhausted Alodeus felt, not once did Alfred, Caruma or even Mikeal bring up the change in mood. Maybe… Maybe this really was all in Alodeus's head? I mean, it wouldn't be the first time his paranoia caused him to go overboard with planning and what have you. Now.
