Trying to solve the mystery of why there are so few women looking for dates

@vercuassault MOTHER OF JESUS FUCK! I didn't think it was that bad after reading that pew research post.
kameiya
Wow. Just wow. This guy is so amazingly insightful on what most don't even think about.

@vercuassault Kinda scary considering how many people rely on Twitter and similar apps for dates these days. The problem was made even worse by last year by Covid when people couldn't go to bars/clubs and other places to meet people. This is gonna have a serious impact on population growth in the years to come which in turn will affect the Ponzi Scheme known as Social Security since there won't be enough young people paying into it.

And if Japan's situation is anything to go by as a reference, reverse-cyborgs (robots with organic components for the sake of continuing the species) are inevitable, and a waifu/husbando version of Skynet will simply exist as a byproduct of human negligence of human humanity. Machine broke. Laugh. Then realise it's an abstracted form of life support. Panik. To me it's worse than as-depicted. People go on/off apps, thinking they'll find something. Those connections are synthetic. Nothing organic will come from synthesis.

Like Tinder, YouTube and TikTok are also designed to hold your attention and keep you coming back for hits of dopamine. Even Twitter, though I think its less direct. People who have over 100,000 posts, just on it daily to argue with people or be snarky. I imagine I'll never get up that far in posts. The best suggestion this guy and others have had is trying to build friendships and relationships offline. Easier said than done. I am pretty introverted and have to warm up to people IRL. I don't make friends easily myself so I know how convenient doing things online can be. Most the friends I have made over the years have been from school and work, not random social encounters. This is limiting. But also because the decline in dating, or coupling rather, and the strikingly low levels of testosterone from the use of plastics, delaying having children to have careers, etc etc, the birth rate is already on the decline. Idiocracy really is upon us.

@kameiya Trust me, I've been here over 5 years and this place has never been a proper dating site in the slightest bit lol. People can find partners here but it's more like an anime social site and if you happen to find a partner then that's a bonus.

@animekid Five years? Don't be modest dude, it's nearly been 10. For reference, the earliest post on my wall is October 13th, 2015, and the earliest post on your wall is Jul 16, 2012. You and Charles are both the majority of our senpais.
redhawk
I mean he did say over 5 years ago Which does imply it being longer lol
