i say when you can no longer contain your feelings is the best time to say it,but you already know my answer of what love is, but i do believe that everyone has their own meaning of what love is! and people have their idealistic Perfect Partner, but they will never attain that! But instead sees their Love as the Perfect partner if they were ever to reach that stage!

Infatuation most certainly clouds judgement! It's why they say love is blind xD But there's a difference between love and lust, and that's probably the single reason things fall apart... cuz lust tends to be more common. It falls in line with that phrase about if you want a flower, you pick it, but if you care about the flower, you water it... or something like that. (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و Being friends should always come first, but I've had a wide spectrum of experiences living that way. Some girls have taken it as a rejection, some have viewed it as me being a pussy, some have ended what we've created cuz it was long distance and it was assumed I'd find someone else before I put a ring on her finger, and others have simply chosen to drop me for someone they've known for only a few weeks that dives in before establishing anything meaningful... such as what I'm recovering from very recently. Despite the ups and downs I've experienced from my belief of being close friends first, I still think it's the way it should be. I'm always pumping the brakes when the thought of "she's fucking hot, therefore I need her" crosses my mind xD

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oGpFcHTxjZs I've said it before, but I like the concepts of Phileo, Storge, Eros and Agape. Phileo being that of which is friendship. Storge being that of which is family. Eros being that of which is lust. Agape being that of which is unconditional. The ultimate goal is to reach unconditional love. A love that knows no bounds and has no reason, it just is. An almost impossible love. This love is not so much found, but created and forged over a lifetime. It is one of willing sacrifice without expectation of return. But, I know that I require the same commitment to be returned inorder for me to know that my investment was worth while. So, I'm somewhere between unconditional and conditional. What's a perfect partner to me? I'd like to think I've found her. She's loving beyond expectation, she's caring, she craves my mind/body/soul, she's supportive in all endeavors, she's patient in all my shortcomings and has a motherly love for my son that melts the heart. While she may not be perfect in everyone's eyes, she's perfect for me. We just fit. As for infatuation clouding judgement. Absolutely. While it's a natural part of the process, those feelings are not love. Love is about what you do, not how you feel. Infatuation is more along the lines of attraction (Namely, sexual attraction.).

Well, from my POV, there's several types of attraction that often get mistaken for love. http://i.imgur.com/zlo2z.jpg Then love, itself, which doesn't exactly discriminate between romance, family, friends, places, things, pets, ect. My quick and dirty way of defining love is "the bonding force that makes us do things we don't want to do or sacrifice something we have in the service of someone who didn't ask for it, without expecting to attain anything from it." I agree with Yaasshat in that it's not really a feeling, but more of an action. It's not something that can be measured. It exists, and apathy is love's antithesis, rather than hate. (Hate is the negative aspect of love, not the opposite of it, if that makes sense.) So while I define all love as being basically the same unifying force, we should also acknowledge that brain chemicals are what further make us feel differently between about it towards one entity to another. I mean we have to. Evolution and genes demand us to be selective when it comes to finding mates, it demands us to feel a certain way towards our groups, clans, and families, stuff like that. Now, I gotta get back to doing something I love, and start shooting zambies with a nerf blaster. Love you guys. Peace.

there are many different types of love, like familial love, parental love, and even things like admiration id include as a type of love its all just chemicals romantic love just includes sexual desire id say it's best to confess your love when you've been in a relationship for awhile and feel like you can see a future with this person (as well as feel that the feeling of love is reciprocated) my perfect romantic partner is someone who mirrors what i give them. someone who loves me as much as i love them and shows it as well. never letting a day go bye without a kiss and "i love you". i cant be in a relationship with someone who is closed off or cant give what i give ye i cant see anything wrong with the love triangle thing. https://cdn130.picsart.com/264291285009202.gif
