Love is both a simple and complex part of most peoples lives. Obviously there are multiple kinds, otherwise you wouldn't be disgusted at the thoughts of sleeping with family members. They all share the common factor of commitment, loyalty in other words, wanting the best for them, to spend time with one another. Whether it be friends, family or lovers, loyalty and trust is the most important factor to keep it long term or to make something meaningful.
Passion isn't specifically necessary for love, but I will admit it makes things easier. Having passion for something or someone is one hell of a drug, however it's fickle and won't last forever. You can commit to someone, give your life for them without an ounce of passion towards them, and what else could be called the ultimate showing of love other than giving your life up for them. Passion only a source of strong emotion. Whether it be rage or love, it's an amplifier, nothing more. It will also always fade.
Sexual desire is only an aspect that matters with romantic partners, it's a lust to procreate. Completely physical, you can feel lust without love, and love without lust, but I feel it's important to be attracted to your partner if you want things to last. At least that's personally for me.
Lust and Infatuation definitely cloud your judgement, that's not even a debate. Chemicals do some wild shit to your mind, but it doesn't mean you aren't in control of your actions, you are.
Romantic love in my eyes is just a strong mix of commitment and lust. Realistically the only difference between your girlfriend and your best friend, is you want to stick your dick into them one of them. Sure the lust will fade over time, but keeping up the commitment and to continue to try, from both sides, is the only way to make a lasting relationship. Wanting to touch, make out, ect, all lust. Just a lesser form of it.

Love is giving someone the power to hurt you and trusting that they won't.

Love is good cause it hurts you so aren't we all masochistic??
Love is bad cause it hurts other so aren't we all sadistic??
Either way it hurts or hurts others it's love.
So Aren't Love is Pain?
Neither way Pain is not Love, Yet Love is Pain.
Isn't it?

As complex as it seems, or as complex as people tend to make love seem, my idea of love is cherishing someone and being at ease in their presence. Being able to divulge the full extent of what's on your mind without any restraint. Being able to enjoy moments both big and small with one another. That type of bond, in its purest distillation, is one devoid of any pretense or deception. No relationship is without its imperfections, but that's the purest form of love in my eyes.

When it comes to love I view it as giving myself as a gift to someone else, some people will accept my gift and others won't but if they do then I'll try to enrich that person's life.
Love to me is mostly about giving and not so much what I can get out of a relationship, I express my love by taking care of you.
That mindset is mostly my attitude towards romantic relationships, but I treat familial love and friendship pretty similarly and it's hard to explain what the exact difference between the 3 is to me except that the love I'd feel for a friend or family member is more platonic in nature.
In an ideal relationship my partner and I function like a team, I try not to say "I love you" too much and tend to let my actions speak for themselves, though I will say it if my partner does something for me that I really appreciate or if my partner says "I love you" I'll say "I love you too".
