I would reccomend High Score Girl if you are looking for anime about 90s arcades (mostly street fighter 2) videogames, culture around the two and some fun adolescent romance. What makes this work for me is while it's a romance anime It highlights a lot of japanese arcade scene and 90s videogames by highlighting characters impressions, expirence, and bonding over them. Both the characters are great in this even if one ends up doing all the talking for both. Agent Valenne was sent to ensure rogue codex users are put down so she attacks the player character at the start of the game. It's through the help of your own reel maiden, Helia Starr (pictured above) that you are able to excape after getting your ass completely kicked in the prologue boss battle. I also went ahead and shelled out some money to Suno AI so I can isolate a vocal track I wrote with the instramental track. There will be dynamic music in this game where you'll hear the instrumentals, but as soon as shit goes down the vocals start playing. Took me 4 hours to write the song but I'm really happy with how it came out. Also got some particle effects working in the game!
