Mommy's Devotional For Anyone Willing To Read

Just hopefully a mini thing I wanted to start for awhile now just cause. I am just doing this for anyone who may be willing to read is all, and I'll write a little (maybe? I like to talk lol) something about what I get from the chapter and verse. Once again this is just for anyone willing to read a bit of something, I love you ❤️
Psalm 131 "1 My heart is not proud, Lord,
my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters
or things too wonderful for me. 2 But I have calmed and quieted myself,
I am like a weaned child with its mother;
like a weaned child I am content. 3 Israel, put your hope in the Lord
both now and forevermore."
God is described as like a father and like any parent He wants His children to have faith, hope and trust in Him that He will provide. Matthew 19:14 says "14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” And when God tells us (who are already in the faith or willing to try) to come and receive as children, God doesn't mean literally, because maturity should be found in us when we get older. But God means our hearts should receive Him as a child does their parent, innocent and trusting that their parent will provide for them and that no matter rain, hail, storm or sunshine that they will be covered by his hand of mercy and protection. In verse 1 God doesn't desire for us to be haughty and act like we know everything, but He wants us to hopefully (by choice) humble ourselves and admit that some things are just too great for us to understand or bad ourselves, which is why verses 2-3 ofnPsalm 19 David likens himself to a child. Because most children live life knowing they'll be providing for by their parents or parent and even though some things may be too great for their minds to understand, they are content because the provision and protection they know will be there cause their parent(s) is/are there.
God is just looking for people who are willing to put their hope in Him. He doesn't care what you or I have done (and I've done some stupid stuff), but as long as I am not proud and put my hope in my Father, I will not be concerned with the cares of this life. Amen
I'm going to type a little prayer of peace and thanks the way I would pray it (for anyone willing to pray sincerely if you want to try. No pressure ^^). Lord God, I come before you today to say thank you for the breath in my lungs, thank you for the renewing of my mind everyday. I ask that you ordain my footsteps in peace today and that any concerns in my life or friends I know lives, that you just help me and them to find peace in your provision and care, knowing that things will work themselves out no matter how it plays out. I thank you for another chance at this thing we call life, and I ask that you help my heart and any pride found within it, I ask that you help me to try because you appreciate those who stumble and yet keep going. Help me to place my trust in you knowing you will strengthen me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Galatians 4:4-5, (NIV) "But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship."
This verse is fascinating to me, I wondered why it takes care to mention that Jesus is born of a woman and under the law? Well, it's because God is letting us know through this text that in order to properly save humanity from our sins, Jesus has to also go through temptation and human/fleshly things. Although, just because he went through temptation of sin doesn't mean he did anything sinful, God sent His only begotten son because He loves us and to prove to us as humans that just because we are wrapped in flesh it doesn't mean we have to partake of it. Jesus' story is about so many things, but one of those things is a telling and even the power we have to overcome our flesh and the sin it can bring.
Even though Jesus is the Word in flesh (in other words, the Law) he too was subject to being under the law because Christ was made human. John 1:14-a (NIV) "14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us." And God is not a God of disorder but order and peace, Galatians 14:33 says. "33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people." And Jesus himself is the prince of peace as in Isaiah 9:6 (KJV), "6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
The son must first be subject to the law (both earthly and spiritual law) in order to judge and rule properly, the government couldn't be upon the shoulders of someone who themselves doesn't know, experience or is subject to the law first. Now onto the adoption to sonship, the definition of sonship in the Bible is actually a few things but all go hand in hand: 1. In the narratives of Israel, sonship is the relationship through which God made the covenantal promises to David's heir, 2. We are born of God to have God as our life and nature (see John 1:12-13; 3:6; 1 John 5:11-12; 2 Pet. 1:4); 3. Having that attitude that was in Christ in having the heart of a son towards leadership. Jesus himself said of the Father in John 5:19 (NIV), "19 Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does." Just as a prince learns from his father the king, Jesus in that verse is telling us that He rules the way his Father rules (has taught), that God is teaching Him the ways of the Kingdom of Heaven which is us as humanity.
I do believe that Jesus of course is that kingdom as well, but if we can be adopted into sonship and become as children unto God the Father, then we too will become the kingdom of heaven and are so as well. Luke 17:20-21 (NIV) says, "20 Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.” Because Jesus came to die for our sins he redeemed us and conquered sin, taking the keys to death, hell and the grave. And from his death, burial to resurrection was making us sons and daughters of God, becoming the bridge we can cross to get to God the Father, because without Jesus we cannot come to God. John 14:6 (NIV), 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." We can find our lives and our purpose in God through Christ (Colossians 3:2 [NIV] "3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God."). With hope in knowing that the Father's will is to give us hope, future and an expected end to our lives, having joy in knowing we did and tried to do the will of God in our lives each day. Amen
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Another prayer if you want to try with sincerity. Once again, no pressure ^^) Lord God, I come before you again today to say thank you for the newness of life unto me this day. I thank you for the breathe in my lungs and the ability to still move and think, thank you for even the simple things. Father, give me a grateful heart with what I have so bitterness does not take root in my soul, but give me a joy that surpasses any other that I have felt in the past. I thank you for the gift of life that you have given me by your Son Jesus Christ and if there's any doubt in my mind, remove it. You desire for me to come to you and this is me trying, thank you for your strength, mercy and understanding. In Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen.

Mark 8:34-38 (NIV): 34 Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 35 For whoever wants to save their life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. 36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? 37 Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 38 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
Jesus made a sacrifice for us when he died on the cross, in this verse we as believers and anyone who is desiring to become a child of God is told in this chapter and verses that we'll have to make a sacrifice as well. The death in this verse isn't depicting a physical death (though some will be killed because of their belief), but it is talking about a death to oneself and the desires of their flesh. We are supposed to deny ourselves what we want and our will so that we can truly be as Christ and do the will of the Father in Heaven. Galatians 2:20 (ESV): "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
When Jesus died he gave us so many things: life, hope, love, salvation and more, but in Galatians it says "faith in the Son of God". And for those who may not know in Hebrews 11:6 it says that "Without faith it is impossible to please God." And through Jesus' death, burial and resurrection he has given us hope and faith, though we can't see it we believe it and choose to live and clothe ourselves in the covering Christ gave us, which is why in Mark and Galatians it says to us we take up our crosses as like Christ and we no longer live in our own terms (our flesh) but live in faith. We have to take up our cross everyday and deny ourselves the lusts of our flesh because we know when we rule and reign by it we cause ourselves to sin, and in Romans 6:23 it says, "23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord." Yet again though it mentions Christ Jesus and how despite our sin we have true freedom and life in Christ, which is why we must have a mind like Christ to do the will of the Father in heaven and why we have to persevere as Christ did and come to God through him in order to find our life.
It gets easier and better everyday when you deny yourself. Not only are you growing closer to Jesus and God by coming to Him through His son, but it teaches self-discipline and begins to remove those demons in your life that has once caused you to sin. My dad came up with an acronym for Sin and it's S.alvation I.s N.igh, in our sin salvation is drawing near, because God sent his only begotten son to us because our sin. And because of the sacrifice we don't continue to sin and we subject ourselves to denial as to cleanse our mind, hearts and our flesh from things of this world as in Colossians 3:1-3: "3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." In the denial of our flesh it is depicting us becoming mini Christ's everyday by 1. Death to our flesh by putting away our sins, 2. Burial of our old ways and being made alive in Christ and 3. Resurrecting our new man because we continue to die to this earth everyday and focus on the things that will last forever in spirit.
In verses 36-38 of Mark 8 it tells us this world doesn't truly have anything good for us. While God can have people and things set apart in the earth that can be enjoyable, we aren't supposed to truly focus on that (see Matthew 6:19-20). Because we aren't promised to keep everything we receive, but we store up for ourselves things of the spirit such as the Fruits of the Spirit, salvation and so much more so if our earthly possessions are taken away we won't be truly disappointed and let down. In verses 38 and onwards in Mark chapter 8 it shows that we cannot expect to be ashamed of God and Christ, that we cannot expect gifts and true favor from God on this earth when we deny his Son, because if giving to the poor and needy is as of giving to Christ as in Matthew 25:40 “40 The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Denying God's son is as if denying God himself and God can't truly bless and favor those who don't have the seed of their Father within them, you aren't His child anymore but Satan's.
I'll leave everyone with hope in even the correction, affliction, reprove, rebuke and conviction of the spirit. Hebrews 12:5-6 says, "5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,
“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” If you still feel conviction (which CAN come in the form of feeling anger, sad or otherwise) you should rejoice, because that means God and His Son are still knocking at the door of your heart and if you choose to reject them they will respect it, but it will be a unfulfilled life. Be wise and choose life as in Deuteronomy 30:19, "19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live." For this gift of life isn't just for you, but unto the third, fourth, fifth generations and as many as our Lord God shall call. Amen---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lord God, I come before you again today to ask for the strength to persevere in love and deny myself by faith. Faith that you God give unto those that come before you with their best, Father, I ask that you help me to not rule and reign by my flesh. But that you help me to die to myself and rise through your Son Jesus Christ's spirit, for me to clothe myself in the blood of Jesus and to have a mind of Christ to do the Father's will in my life. For me to have a heart after you Lord as David did to love what you love and hate what you hate, for me to love what is good and hate what is evil. Father God give me a spirit of humility and reverence for you and your Word in Jesus' mighty name I pray. Amen

Luke 2:1-22 (NIV) "In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived." Through the life and story of Jesus Christ we can see the gift of love, hope, peace and the sacrifice God made to come down to earth in the flesh and sacrifice himself as the Son to a world who wasn't concerned with Him. We can see the prophecy's of old being fulfilled as God has promised, Isaiah 9:6 (NIV) says: "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." We can see that God's promises never fail and his favor and blessings rest upon the generation of those who love Him, the latter part of Psalm 145:13 (NIV) says: "The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does." Even though we may go through trials, temptations, infirmities and more it is all to bring out something better within us. It is through our sin that our salvation draws near and because of the love shown we don't continue to sin (especially purposefully). And just as the shepherds rejoiced in verse 20 of Luke chapter 2 it resembles the people rejoicing at the promises of God being fulfilled just as He said, a reminder that God never fails and that He has laid our future before us and it's up to us to choose to stick it out and persevere, to accept the gift of life God has given us through Jesus Christ. Though Joseph and Mary were going to fulfill the law on the earth, God gave humanity the Law of all laws and through their obedience and faith to trust God, a savior was born to die for our sins. This season is so much more than gifts to me, but the greatest gift I have received was the gift of life God sent to Earth for you and I. Keep holding out and God will NOT fail you---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Prayer of Life (you can choose to pray this or not ^^) Lord, Father God. I come before you to ask for life and to have it more abundantly, I know I cannot rely on my own strength because the arms of flesh will surely fail me, but I ask for a spirit of humility before you and humbleness with a faith that has been given to me by your Son Jesus Christ. I thank you Heavenly Father for the life you have through your Son, for the chance to change my ways by choice and to live in love and walk by faith and not by sight. I thank you for the hope we have through the telling of Jesus' life and how we can persevere in spirit and in truth from the Devil and the flesh tempting us. I praise you, glorify you and magnify your Mighty name for renewing me today and breathing new life into my lungs. In Jesus' mighty name I do pray, Amen

John 14:6 (KJV) "6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.".
(Excuse his tone, it's the message that's important) https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRcA9CTk/
We cannot come to God through any other thing except through His Son, Jesus Christ, we try to fill the emptiness within us with earthly materials and temporary pleasures. While everything comes with a price , both our sins and our choice to serve God, for Christians we have to carry our cross just as Jesus did and for worldly people they may build up temporary riches, but they forfeit their souls (something that is eternal). Mark 8:34-35 (KJV) says, "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" As I taught a couple days ago about dying to ourselves, we are supposed to die to our flesh, carnality of the mind and wicked devices of our hearts, we can make a choice and God can and will respect it, He will not force you, but at some point in time all must answer according to their acts, thoughts and words. What we have chosen to do and not to do, and just because God can allow you to make that choice, it doesn't mean it is always the best choice, and as I stated He won't force anyone to believe in Him or worship Him as that'd be a false praise pouring from our lips. Matthew 15:8 (NIV) says, "These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me."
What God has already set before in the earth, Satan tends to pervert it, and it's all about the source we get it from. Is it pure or evil? Satan is sneaky and smart he is as a prowling lion searching for prey to devour and bring into the kingdom of Satan, we know that according to 2 Corinthians 11:14 that he disguises himself as an angel of light, for he used to be in Heaven before he chose himself to sin. Sometimes Satan comes in a way that seems good and right or is pleasing to our flesh (which is why God tells us to die to it everyday), but we need to make that choice for ourselves if we will sacrifice ourselves for God and His Son, Jesus the Christ, or not? Because God sent His only begotten Son because He loved us and wanted us to live our lives to the fullest in His Spirit, but if we continue to sin Romans 6:23 tells us, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord." Let us choose this day whom we shall serve , and if we choose life in God through Christ, let's live it to the fullest according to God's will and in perseverance.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A prayer to those that are willing to try (no pressure once again ^^). Lord God, I come before you today to ask for forgiveness for coming through earthly objects and trying to fill the void within me in other ways that only cause temporary reassurance and happiness. You say in your Word that the things of this world are only temporary and the things of the spirit are what are eternal (see 2 Corinthians 4:17-18). Father, I ask that you hear me, turn to me in my time of need and desperation and not turn away in anger towards me. I have tried earthly teachings and other ways such as sorcery and divination at times or by just coming in ways that aren't your son Jesus, but I ask you help me to see the truth about such practices and beliefs outside of you, that you give me the patience to hear your voice and the will you have planned for me. God I just ask you show up in my life and help any doubt, unbelief or hate for you, hear my cry and let your Spirit be a balm unto my weary soul. In Jesus' mighty name I do pray, Amen
