Games You're Looking Forward To

Anyone pre-ordering games still is literally mentally handicapped. After cyberpunk 2077 that should have been a sign you cant trust the video game industry anymore. Games like Anthem and others ship Dead on arrival and at like $70 and such there really is no reason to take the risk. Caliso protocol was one game people were hyped for and look how that was.

Not gonna lie I feel like I live in a whole different world than everyone saying "lol don't pre order games, everything is trash. in fact. stop playing video games, it's dead" I haven't ever felt like I took a risk in buying or preordering games ever. Every game I've preordered in the past decade I've enjoyed. The doom and gloom surrounding video games honestly gets extremely exhausting. I don't know how people do it when they literally can pick up so many dope experiences, like shit. try a new genre, play some indie games (more people should play Sifu tbh, that game is super underrated and came out last year), learn a fighting game. The industry isn't only the overhyped AAA games that flopped or had tons of issues on launch...and even then there has been still plenty of AAA games that were genuinely good in the past 5 years like God of War 2018/Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima, Red Dead Redemption 2, Spiderman, Sekiro, Elden ring, demon souls, Jedi Fallen order, Resident evil 2 remake, Resident evil village, and some others I'm probably forgetting but the flops stay in the public's consciousness longer because it's like a confirmation bias that gaming is doomed and ruined or something I guess? Not saying that there aren't some serious issues with trends that are being taken by multiple companies with super predatory microtransactions and general fuckery. But to say that people that preorder games are mentally handicapped is such an overexaggeration

Thank God my favorite Genres have plenty of games from the past and future 2. Indie games are exactly where I am going to, a lot of the issues with today's games are mainly in the Western AAA sphere anyways (Not that square is any saint either, but NFTs aside, just saying)

I swore off pre-ordering after Cyberpunk but I made an exception recently that is a one off type situation. My issue with the gaming industry aside from terrible working conditions and deadlines for the creators put upon them by investors putting pressure on the game directors *cough* ... is how "pay to play" games ever got big and essentially took over the entire industry. Games were fine before. Then they started making expansions to squeeze more money out of people, then they started doing packs, now there is game currency exchange for real currency. Those games exist because people kept getting them. Shame. You hear the latest Bethesda BS? Lay offs. Not only was it 4 years ago that they "announced" Hammerfell with a 37 second teaser, but now they are saying to expect Hammerfell much later. It's done lol Skyrim came out in, what? 2011? Who needs 11 years, what other game has taken that long to make? But.. I hear the Hammerfell team was effected more than the people they have working on their stupid mobile game.

The only time pre-ordering a game makes any sense to me is if it comes with bonuses that a person just really wants (even then, it's just stuff like a gold skin for your gun), or it's a physical Collector's Edition (since those can actually sell out). Aside from that, what's the purpose in it? It's not like the standard game is gonna sell out, and digital is essentially an infinite supply xD

@verucassault its crazy to think skyrim and gta 5 are two games that has survived 2 console generations without another installment in the series. Its not like they are busting out bangers or anything. These up and coming studios are dropping gems more than the big names
