If you see someone in need of help, would you help?

My question is if you see a stranger in need of help such as being attacked or trying to lift a heavy object or needing a push on there car or helping to get a sea animal off the beach would you help?

I hate myself for helping people... I really do. But I'm a damn sap so hook line and sinker, I'm gonna help out. So many times I've been late, broke or had a day blown from helping people. For a guy who considers himself pretty intelligent, you'd think I'dve learned by now... Shikata ga nai...

sure if it's not that big of a deal, but still depends though. If I'm there at the right place at the right time then why not? Few months ago a neighbor's was catching fire, everyone was kinda standing around doing nothing till I got a gardening hose and helped in putting it out. Sometimes I'd help our neighbor with technical things, filling out paperwork they didn't understand, I've given rides to strangers, and a while back helped change an old man's car tire. But if it looks like they're already being helped then there's probably no need to bother.

If there was a fight I would just call the police if it was bad, getting involved would be dangerous for me. But if it's letting a old lady take my seat on the bus that is fine. Or helping people find a place when they are lost.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with being a good samaritan - in fact it's a good thing. I tend to help people out with small and big things, especially if I saw my friend being attacked unprovoked of course I'd step in to help them out. Although sometimes I feel I help out a little too much and then you get the people who will ask you constant favours and that can get annoying, it depends on the person when it comes to that.
