what was your first anime, did anyone have that sensei that constantly fed you material day after day?

Technically it was DBZ, but the first anime I saw on my own was Vandread I think, I use to watch the anime on Toonami (like DBZ) with my sister.
If it wasn't Vandread, it was Elfen Lied
As for the "sensei" thing, no, I ended up finding everything on my own

Same here I decided to explore other shows besides things I watched and found japanese cartoons started watching them. Found out they were really good and got hooked. Toonami though did somewhat introduce me to a few.

Technically it was Sailor Moon. But, the first one I decided to check out? Probably Slayers. After Try I stopped watching anime altogether, then my friend re-introduced me into anime by making me do an EPIC One Piece Marathon...

Well I would hope its not the current amount of episodes because if that was the case you would have a 213 hours rounded to watch if were going by the 640 mark amount of episodes... The longest marathon I done was like around a 100 and that was pretty tiring.

My first anime was a VHS copy of Nausica and the Valley of the Wind. With my second being the Sci-fi channels showing of Akira. And nobody actually introduced me, I just kind of stumbled into the genre.

The first anime I saw on tv as I was getting ready for elementary school. It was an episode of Pokemon, and tentacruel was attacking something or another. I was hooked.

@metaljester It was less than two years ago so we did a lot of watching. It took about a 2 weeks, and we had to take breaks cause just watching anime for days... He's from Japan and studying English. So we watched in English dubbed till they stopped dubbing, then continued in Japanese and I helped him with his homework! lol Good times.

It was most likely Pokemon, like a lot of little boys in the late 90s. I didn't even know what anime was back then, I just really liked Pokemon.
