I honestly feel the same way recently. I don't know why, but I've been straying quite a bit from the pop culture aspect of Japan that got me into my fields of study and more into stuff like religion and cultural nuances of the language. Like, the last anime I truly binged/heavily enjoyed was... A year and a half ago? But I still watch some stuff here and there when my friends put it on.
