Ya know, partner and friend aren't strictly seperate terms. If you don't consider your partner to be a friend as well, you have no partner. If anything, the fact that I'm willing to (in my case) give the rest of my life to my wife, that makes her pretty damn important and I'd argue that she's more important to me than any other friend I have. To say friends are indispensable while partners are easily given up, that just tells me that you have no real clue at all. But, what works for me may not work for others.

You do realize that we are using the word partner to separate a significant other from a friend right? No one said that their partners weren't their friends, its just terminology to separate the two. Its not as though we're talking about arranged marriages between two strangers.

I'm looking at context and it's not being used in the same manner.
Edit: To quote,
"Yea, you shouldn't be forced to pick between one of the other. Most people will usually pick their partner over a friend."
Just sayin'...

To me a partner is a role that a friend cannot fill. In that, they are separate. However, a partner and a friend at their very foundation are constructs of two people looking out for each other. In that, they are the same.

So yall won't defend your gf if you had a friend who started picking fights with her and bullying her? Yep. Guess I'm staying single for life. Yassetr, you're wife really is fortunate. Partners are to be best friends. Even if you haven't hit marriage stage if the spouse is not willing to see them as a friend too then to me the relationship is definitely lacking in feelings.

I think a friend who bullies my partner is not really my friend.

So I think there's a misunderstanding here, at least with me I think there is. I can't account for everyone.
What it seems people are taking from my words is this:

Now its different if your friend is bullying her. It depends on the situation tbh if they are saying that she did something bad that would end up hurting me most likely i will side with the friend. Cuz i mean what do they gain from telling me that just to get us to break up? But if they are just messing with my gf for no reason i would stick up for her.
But yeah most people choose partners over friends (in this case me when my gf told me to leave MO) i left all my friends behind then when we broke up guess who i came crawling back to? Pals before gals is a saying for a reason

Shinu,
But, what if my wife is all three and she has depression? So, she's my best friend who beats up on my wife...Sh-Should I just drop her? I'm conflicted on this one.
Panda,
You're no friend if you'll just ditch them. You shouldn't have to leave your friends, your "girl friend " was just jealous and very insecure, in that case. These are things you'll learn as you mentally mature.

That's the idea. The friend, best friend, and wife bars are all the same bar. The friend eventually rises to best friend, which eventually rises to wife. Once it gets to wife, it doesn't break off from the rest, it still remains to be all of the previous iterations.
