Dragon's Dogma. The atmosphere in that game is amazing, great soundtrack too. Still waiting for a sequel :(

I want to say FF6 and Chrono Trigger as well, but I've played so many good JRPGs since then that I really can't choose anymore.
Pokemon easily. Mostly a nostalgia thing but I spent so much time romhacking and reverse engineering all the games. My twitter shows that well lol.
The Trails/Kiseki series.
Presently a 9 game long interconnected narrative. Overall story is said to be 60% done as of now.
I used to love Pokemon, then it slowly went downhill game-wise for me. Sword and Shield was the last straw. I can't transfer any of my favorite Pokemon and for a first console mainline game the graphics are eh.
