shit my dude it doesnt end with renting gfs bfs you can rent a dude to pretend to be you at work or even a father for your child crazy i dont think its as black and white as "just get a real gf/bf" the cases iv heard have been like, business women hiring a bf to get there parents off their backs people who dont have time for a bf/gf so they hire one to fool people around them declining birth rates may have an impact, but idk

@lamby Damn, didn't know about that. Wonder how the lies would pan out in the long run tho...

True, I never thought about it like that. But I don't think the pay would really be worth it. I mean if you hired someone to work for you, it'd have to be pretty high pay and they could just oust you and get your job instead. This actually reminds me of a story I heard... There was this guy who worked for Microsoft (or some other huge ass company) and everyday he came to work, he'd do nothing and except mess around on the computer, watching youtube or facebooking other people. Years passed and he finally retired with all his 401k and compensation from the company. I think he was making like 80k+ a year, for doing nothing and no one ever found out. Makes me wonder how many people out there are actually getting away with this. Maybe you just need to be a good interviewer and get hired for a big conglomerate.

In my country, renting a boyfriend/girlfriend may bring introverts trouble.Parents will probably ask that rented bf/gf tons of personal questions to see if he/she and his family/her family are "satisfactory" enough, if he/she and his family/her family aren't satisfactory enough to our parents, they will expect their kids to terminate the "relationship" .If parents are satisfied with he/she and his/her family, they will attempt to talk "the two" into getting married, then making babies... So troublesome!!!So many many single people prefer to admit that they are single.

Well I wouldn't want to do it because I saw what happened in the Space dandy season 2 episode with Scarlett wanting to rent dandy as a boyfriend. you literally will have to fake having interest and then when you get too close then you start having feeling. I want to be able to know that the person I'm with has the same interests as me and won't judge me for my interest.

Enki: that's an interesting point. It depends on countries/cultures and romance and marriage can be very important, it could be a problem for people... also it depends on the kind of parents you have. Some people get often asked by their relatives, coworkers, etc. when will they have a girlfriend, why they don't have one, etc. Also on the whole thing I think it's a good idea but expensive but like, psychologists and anti-depressors are expensive too. If it actually help against loneliness and depression and self-confidence, it's not money wasted. Then again it depends how much you depend on the service. If you want company when getting your groceries, clothes shopping or going a date for a few hours on a weekly basis, it's really not much. If you rent him/her every day and have sleepovers it's gonna get really really expensive, money down the drain fashion :/ I suppose renting a gf/bf all your life isn't a good solution and you should do something about it sooner or later. Like how long is it gonna last? Like in a year or two the person should have enough confidence and gf/bf training to actually go date for real? Edit: oh almost forgot also that dating is complicated, understanding the signals when trying to find a date, there's dealing with drama, worrying about loyalty, partners that are just in to get free stuff, divorce and taking half of everything, faking pregnancies to trap you in a relationship... maybe for some people, giving some money for a fake relationship is much less complicated than dealing with any relationship issues that may occur.
