Is this site dying?

@rtae86 Okay. I'm just really wanting to use this to find more people for friendship and possibly more, but it's just there seems to be less people around lately. I mean it's still a nice site and I will continue to keep sticking around, but yeah and I'm just really very shy meeting people irl. So this has really been a good alternative over the years. And good luck with that. That must be soo annoying. I haven't even been receiving that many friend requests myself.

@jigzy There are people that met each other trough here and moved to a different platform to chat. I think most people agree that this site is good to meet people with similar interests (mostly anime and manga) but the chat function is a bit limited, so other platforms like discord are preferred to chat. As for the dating part, I think that's the hard part... Not from my experience but from what I've read on other topics here. Still, I think this site is good to make some friends, long distance or not, just to chat from time to time or on a daily basis. As for the friend requests, I'd be ok if it were real ones. But bots and fake accounts are annoying lol

I mean being in a relationship is a full time job! Is it too much to ask someone for a reference to call just to see how your previous relationship experiences went? Plus it's always worth running a background and drug check. I mean you wouldn't let any old person operate a forklift in the bedroom amirite? All about quality assurance and safety cause in the end this is a FAMILY company, ya know!

@rtae86 Yes, I have added quite a few people here to Discord, in fact. It works that way too. So I don't mind that at all. I guess I am just going to sit back and relax though. I mean I'm not really wanting to even exactly rush right into something again, after what I just went through, but yeah I like to have some friends to just talk to from time to time like that. It is really what I like about this site. So there's still that even if I wouldn't ever find a date. I bet though...That that sounds really annoying.

Tbh if I could find a better free version to shit post with more friendly people I'd probably jump ship from here and go over there. Some great friends here like Gabe and Rose/KitKat and daily talkers keep me on here,dude to female ratio is unbalanced "big surprise" but tons of people have left.

I think it's not just MaiOtaku. Its most anime forum websites. MAL Anime forum is probably the last bastion a lot of people gather but I just really don't like everyone having the ability to have an obtrusive GIF banner in every post. (By the way if this site ever straight up dies, you guys can find me posting in MAL) What I think is happening is that zoomers are shifting to reddit and discord groups. Zoomers these days love their phones and don't typically like to socialize from their PC.
