Which game would you guys say has the best lore?

I know FNAF might get blown up but if you really think about it, what game would you say has the most captivating lore. Like for example, the Resident Evil franchise is really having me dig into it's history, and with Undertale, each character seems to have their own backstory you can look into. Idk, just wanna hear some thoughts

One could say a close competitor would be Neir. But I find I was far more invested in the characters of Shadow Hearts.

Mass Effect universe strikes me as one of the most well thought out universes. There would be whole encyclopedias of codex entries where you can tell it was very seriously thought out. Inventions, plantets, heck, even languages were created for the game. Mac Walters is one of the best writers you can find for western video games. He MADE bioware what it is. When he left, so too did the oxygen supply for that dev studio. Then you got Adam Smith, lead writer for Baldur's gate 3. Mysterious guy. No other accolades, and my man just came by and friggin wrote one of the best games of all time.

I love Elder Scrolls lore. League of Legends had some banger lore. Hoyoverse games have amazing lore that people often ignore due to the games being gacha and how they drag somethings on for too long at times

@flyingsaucer Float Up From Dream They've come to witness the begging, The rebirth of paradise despoiled by mankind. Remember me and your true self as well. Also that which you must become, The one who will lead us to paradise with blood-stained hands. OST Silent Hill 3 ^^^ 3 was amazing for the religion lore and even though it wasn't part of the original team, Homecoming was also interesting. I recall it not delving too deep into the cult stuff in 2 and just focusing more on phycological themes. The lore of 4 was amazing as well. I love how they are all their own stories and have their own themes.
