Right now I’m just enjoying the massive amount of salt from the blue check marks. But yeah I can see it happening.

@a1ephy true enough that in a capitalist society it is the job of every company to greedily vacuum as much cash from the common folk. What this ultimately creates is more of the ultra-elite wealthy. What happens when there are too many wealthy elites, though? Look no further than the guilded age that happened in 1897. Robber barons with fat stacks of cash and nothing to do with it. A period of great income inequality, not even as bad as it is now. Like greedy pigs they horded all the cash to themselves. People had no money to feed into the economy. They couldn't hold jobs, and BOOM! Pop goes the economic growth bubble. The wealth gap gets a major contraction and the cycle starts anew. Unfretted capitalism has always been a zero-sum game. I'd say we are about due for another great depression within the next 10 years. History always repeats itself.

Twitter employees can bitch and whine all they want. Only thing that companies owe employees is the pay for the work that they put in the company. But apart from that. Companies don't owe employees jack shit and viceversa, employees don't owe companies jack shit.

@arc US is more than likely already in a recession. Whenever there is a recession in the US. The rest of the world follows soon thereafter. There is always economic pain due to a recession/depression. Let's take the 08 crash as an example. There was a lot of pain when people lost their houses. There was also a lot of pain when people lost money in the stock market. Now imagine if you had bought a house during the 08 crash. Or bought stocks during the 08 crash. Prices were dirt cheap. How much pleasure would you have now from those gains? "One man's pain is another man's pleasure." Some people see economic downturn. I see opportunity. I was too young to invest during the 08 crash. But now is my shot. I low key hope shit gets a lot worse. Buy shit dirt cheap. *rubs my hands like Scrooge McDuck* I'm fittin to buy like a motherfucker!
