Resolutions

I know we are still some time away from the New Year, but honestly, it's never too early to start improving yourself. 2020, COVID, and quarantine have made dramatic changes in our day to day lives. A lot of things for the worse, some things for the better. What is a resolution you have for 2021? What is something you want to change or work on? ***************************************************************************************************************** My work is being pretty secretive on whether or not we will go back to working in the office regularly. The last thing they told us about 2 months ago was that we were working from home at least through the holidays. I have a feeling next month they are going to finally address if my office has to return. I have enjoyed my work from home time. I get to spend more time with my dog who for 11 years I have been absent from anywhere from 9-12 hours daily for work. He's an old dog now with a gray beard who groans and moans more than he barks. I want to be able to take care of him better. Metro traffic is the worst. I'm not a nervous driver, but my anxiety does make me maybe an offensive/agro driver, getting from point A to point B as quickly as I can with as little bullshit as possible. I used to get to my office at 7am every day just so I could leave a bit earlier to avoid traffic, barely scraping by what was allowed for office hours at my job. In fact, they were probably lenient with me for the hours I kept. Anyway, if my company comes back giving us more freedom with how we want to work I think I will dedicate 1-2 days at least in office just so I can have as little distractions as possible to hammer out as much work as I can for the week. I'm both more active and not. Being in quarantine made me start exploring new methods of working out that I wanted to try but never got around to. Resistance band training and Yoga. I used to get a lot of steps in because my office building is big and I drink a lot of water XD. I don't make my steps like I used to. My sleeping schedule has also shifted. I don't adhere to my strict schedule before COVID and often times it doesn't matter because my insomnia has really picked up during all of this. My goal is to try to force that schedule back into place where I'm no longer staying up late so I can wake up earlier and get cardio in while continuing to do my other exercise methods. I also want to stop spending so much time online. I missed human interaction and I was communicating with people online anyway, so why not come back and check in with folks here. I think I've done decent management by doing the majority of my posting during the day, while I'm also working. By the evening, I don't even want to play video games on my PC that much because I'm so sick of sitting at my desk. I have so many things I want to do or work on and I feel like I get sucked into spending my time online. I can actually draw and paint fairly well. I also like doing crafty stuff (still need to get into soap making). I also have half a bookshelf of stuff I've been meaning to read. We didn't see our friends and family for a long time when this started, then eventually started hosting Magic the Gathering at our place on Sundays. Which wasn't even something we did before COVID, but it gave us all a reason to get together. It seemed like our and our friends' spirits picked up when we started doing this. This is something I want to continue doing even if we return to something somewhat normal.

Same as last year's. Don't die! - Also never put money into a free to play game like Genshin Impact that breaks and steals your $120.

My 2021 new years resolution is to stop waiting around for my special someone to come and just get out there and do stuff. Like trying to build up my confidence and get rid of my reclusive nature which has gotten worse ever since my deployment.

My goal for 2021 is to get back in the wrestling ring. Those were the most fun times I had, two to six guys beating the crap out of each other and going for drinks after. Just need to get a bunch of muscle back on my body. Back then I was bigger than I am now and I intend to get that back and tear it up like the good old days.

My goal for 2021 is to find an actual job and hopefully expand my skillsets and abilities in my hobby.Also get back into working out and get back to the shape i was in before and hopefully improve on it. And stop eating shitty food but that's a bit of a stretch.
