We'll screw up the world in fifty years.

"Sheep go to Heaven. Goats go to Hell." -Cake Well, what about Rams and other similar species?

I mean, with any luck, we'll have another plague and that'll be it. Don't worry, this o'l mud ball will still keep spinning without us. We're kind of overdue, if history is to be understood. There was a man who died in, I think, Maryland (U.S), recently after eating squirrel brains. Score one for prion diseases.

I've learned that peoples' doomsday predictions are always wrong and don't do anything for you.

@Onizuka Where is the entire continent burning to the ground? There's California which has been recorded to burst into flames since the 1800s and Native American accounts say that it has been on fire for much longer. Fishing regulations have made it so that many species have bounced back from low populations. Toxic fumes and waste? Almost all the areas from the Industrial Revolution have had the damage undone such as London, NYC, Boston, Bordeaux, Volgograd, Merrimack Valley mills. An issue occurs when we see illegal disposal of chemicals, key word being illegal. Such as the dumping of Teflon byproducts into the Tennessee river by 3M.

@yar I am referring to Australia for the fire bit. The fishing regulations usually only prohibit the deliberate targeting of specific species. Also worth noting that not all nation's have the same regulations. The oceans as a whole are less lively than they used to be due to water pollution and general over fishing. Air and water regulations roll in and out all the time. And plenty of dumping is completely legal, like the sugar waste dumping here in Florida. And when the lakes fill up with it, they drain it out to sea.

Over fishing, over hunting, land air and sea pollution, deforestation, urbanization, disruption or removal of natural water flows\sources, industrial acid rain, and forced irregular migratory patterns are all happening all over the planet at the hands of humans.
