I lay on my right side for like 10 minutes then turn onto my left side and fall asleep

My mind gets really active when I try to sleep, so to combat this I don't sleep without background noise that I can focus on instead of my thoughts. Usually it's episodes of South Park because I've watched that show so much that I can visualise a lot of the episodes just from the dialogue.

Oi! I like that idea. I do notice falling asleep better after watching something familiar. I thought maybe white noise like fan or rainymood could help but it makes me think of outside and memories of rainy days.

Laying on your back is just begging for sleep paralysis

It may be weird to tell but true fact everyone may have experienced once either in classe or during a long meeting. When you are forced to listen to something boring you get sleepy. So maybe intentionally listening to someone talking about something you find uninteresting may make you fell sleepy. Listen to something monotone, and boring for you. Only listening though, light of computer or phone may aware you more. It's worth trying in the worst case scenario you'll learn something about what you thought was boring. I never needed to do that but I thought it could be worth trying someday. If normal advises don't work why not try this one. I repeate I did not personnaly tried it's only an idea. ps: If you start to think about other things let yourself do if those other things aren't making you awake more, if it does then try to focus on what is being said, not uderstand what is being said just listening. If you can't avoid yourself focusing on the speech meaning and it keeps you awake, find speech in other languages.
