Scene(s) From A Movie That Scared You As a Child

momoichi
i saw the Ring at a sleepover when i was like, 6 or 7 that fucked me up pretty bad (couldnt shower alone and refused to go into pools or anything with water) rewatching it as an adult it wasnt that scary not really a movie, but the XFiles opening song scared the living shit out of me as a kid. idk why but it always really scared me (still freaks me out) i watched ALOT of horror films as a young kid (the grudge, all the classics like nightmare on elm street, the halloweens (halloween 3 was a great film fuck you) every single friday 13th, the first hellraiser, and all the obscure scifi horror films (including Anaconda, which spooked me bad) so hard to say any childish things scared me really forgot to add a scene here, this scene stuck with me from when i saw this as a little kid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2D0kDFKaxE

Lol, I had the same problem, Lamby! There was that scene in Ju-on where the hand came out of her head when she was washing her head made me get into a habit of washing really fast and trying to keep my eyes open, ready to just make a run for it if I ever felt anything that wasn't hair lol

Omg, that wolf thing from Neverending Story freaked me the hell out when I was really little too XD The Ring somehow didn't really scare me. The only scene that freaked me out a little was the scene at the end when she crawled out of the TV. Now, for a scene that scared the crap out of me so bad I couldn't sleep for a few days, it's the scene in The Grudge where the girl hides in her bed and the thing appears under the sheets with her. Also, just about every scene in the latter half of Paranormal Activity

It was very dramatizing, especially how they went on the extra mile to show him being hanged. I had a intense existential crisis about my own mortality for 4 years, because I was so young. I know Tarzan's parents died, but that hung scene really went too far. I was asking too many dark things like where do we go when we die? How are you so sure if we die there'll be a heaven or hell? Will we just stop existing? Please, I don't want to die... I feel like a scene that inspires existential crisis, is true fear. I know Lion King had it bad too, but seeing a human die made me realize this too can happen to me.

@judgmentoftherain I remembering enjoying that movie a lot, I also remember being afraid of the dark because of that scene. I always thought glowing eyes will appear in my room if I turned off the lights. A very nightmarish experience. I also have a lot of night terrors and sleep paralysis. So you can imagine I'm always at edge, unable to sleep. Once, I saw that very wolf biting my neck in my sleep paralysis.

Literally anything from a SAW movie. I couldn't even look AR the cover of one of those movies without having nightmares for a week. And the worst part, one of my "friends" would bully me by showing me the cover of the game when I was off guard.

He's not real! I think this movie did an amazing job at showing childhood fears. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNBzjYyGcd0
