What is it like to have them? And any tips on how to not worry about getting teeth pulled out? Not that I'm scared *sweats profusely* .....just for errr research purposes. :D

you get used to the braces after some time, you get sore sometimes though.

Had braces on my top row when I was younger. Didn't really affect me that much since most people had them around 13-16. Generally I just needed to be more careful when eating and brushing. Painful when you get the wires changed but the rewards of braces are worth it. I wish I had my bottom row done too but that would've required a bottom tooth to be removed. Nope.

I always hear some horror stories and it's great to know some people have okay experiences. How about retainers? Do you really have to wear them constantly?

I only wear my retainer at night. I've had them for ~7 years now and I definitely still need them. My front teeth were crooked as hell so my teeth get really tight against the retainer if I don't wear it for one night. I think I'll be wearing retainers for at least another 10+ years :(

I've never had them nor ever had any friends who had them themselves so I personally can't say but they do sound like a pain if not adjusted properly, apparently some people really like the look of braces as well :'D

Good Friend of mine age 28.. had them fitted 4 month ago. She when was young had an accident that deformed her front teeth as child, but family didn't sort that for her...anyway! First week as adult she finded painful/enoying ... Like First major adjustment. Pain lasted few days. 3 weeks later anoteher adjustment, pain lasted like 2 days. 3 weeks later another adjustment she didn't had any pain after adjustment. Now the GOOD stuff. Withing first 3 weeks her teethg become realy stright....after 2 month was like WoW ... now 4 month ago ... her teeth are just WOW. Like Pop Star teeth :D Should you do it?! Yes! Only other negative, as she is older etc. she need to brush teath/braces a lot, because if u drink fizzy drink and junk food without brushing etc. After 1,5 year of braces you can have discoloration when braces where fitted. Like little squares on every tooth, but that is like EXTREME exmaplke when person realy didn't care about brushing that whole time. So yes... Do it! :D Will be worth it :)

It changes what you can eat at first, but you can get around some of the rules if you're careful. Like they will tell you to avoid popcorn like the plague but as long as you are careful it should be fine. Sometimes if you have a bad adjustment the ends of the wires can scrape your cheeks but this only happens once every like 5 months if you're really unlucky. A lot of people say it's cringey but I like to experiment with the colors of my bands, I've had everything from silver to blend in, to purple, pink, silver and blue (Mercedes whoop), and I plan to try a bunch of other colors

Oh man, when I was 13 or so, my dentist recommended I wear braces and my mom was ok with it but I refused because I didn't want to get bullied but today I wish I would have did it. Those things are expensive. I don't know how much, but I know they are.
