Honestly nothing much to worry about- they can be sore when they get adjusted and such however it gets easier over time (relatively quickly for me). Pain usually goes away after a day at worst after tightening. As others have said you might have to change your diet a tad. Also you ave to up your oral hygiene if it's not already excellent to avoid any broken brackets or food getting stuck and sitting too long etc. All fairly standard faire really.
Don't regret having them at all also if you're worried about getting them when older- i've known plenty of people in their late 20s and 30s who get them.

Had a childhood accident and finally worked hard to have money to fix them. I can't wait till I remove them though, need some meat with bones (like spareribs) and chew on some hard ass French baguette. @Makoto, I put red(top) and green(bottom) during xmas. I looked like a clown but yolo. Now I have both Blue.
