i'm pro abortion.. for a certain amount of time into pregnancy (like 1-2months). beyond that, even if you didn't realize you were pregnant, you have to keep it regardless of circumstance, because you were too stupid to check.
if you're guys are worried about killing dividing cells, stop killing animals. life starts at age 0, when you're born. that's when life starts.
condoms can break, this is why we need to be pro-abortion to a certain degree

@yestotally, I agree with the 'pro-abortion to a certain degree' but 'too stupid to check' seems a bit like overkill. The circumstances you talk of can be very serious, you cant just pass it off as stupidity in every single case. I say that because I come from a country where health care is not quite as good as it should be. If my facts are correct, Netherlands has a 96.6 on GBD's Healthcare Quality and Access index (that's rank 3 globally) and India has something between 35-45. Needless to say there are countries below this as well. And if a person doesn't have access to the healthcare they need with your utopian 1-2 months I do not think it necessarily invalidates their decision. Also, child birth is not always safe for the mother and child (I hope some medico can fill us in on that) so if the doctor deems an abortion as necessary it most definitely is not stupid.
Again I agree with the sentiment but 'pro-abortion as long as its safe'.
@baka YIKES! what youre saying could be worded better XD Super blunt, maybe even a little harsh (not on OP but the him/her you're apparently telling others to get rid of).
> Be me an unborn child
> Parents dont want me
> Stranger on internet wants my parents to get rid of me
> Deletus dat fetus

I’m pro choice for all the same reasons you guys list. I’m pro responsibility for the same reasons also.
And then again as long as the baby will be born healthy, I’m also pro life. There are lots of people who can’t have a child of their own that would love to adopt those babies.
I know you all mentioned the health of the mother. No disagreement. But what about the health of the child? At what point is mercy heartless and a selfish desire to keep someone alive not? Pro life arguments often stop at birth and with all life being precious, but without the consideration or responsibility to the quality of that life after it’s born. Are they personally offering to care for and support these now born children?
Another perspective... Our world is finite. Our resources are finite. And as we as a society are doing nothing to control our own population. Do you really think we should remove a method that does. Life is very precious, but even more so is our world which substains all our lives.
There’s also the argument that some people are stupid, selfish, and irresponsible. Should laws force them to be stupid, selfish, irresponsible parents?
I know I’m all over the map with contradicting opinions. That’s because in truth there’s no blanket perfectly right answer. All circumstances are different. That’s why it’s important to protect the choice of the individual. We as a society and as individuals need the option of making the choice.

I'm pro-abortion as well especially when the fetus got diagnosed with severe diseases like Down's Syndrome or when the mother-to-be's life is threatened. I do hope people can spare lives of healthy and mature fetuses <≥28 weeks>....
Also the final decision-maker should be the pregnant woman. I believe religious people should not use threats/so-called morals to try to stop women from doing it.

@Wes "That’s because in truth there’s no blanket perfectly right answer." ? Shhhh. That one sentence is enough to shut this thread down.
p.s. there's a little loophole to the argument on finite resources. The thing about life is that it holds unlimited potential. You never know what the baby could accomplish when it grows up, something to help with the resource crunch, perhaps? Then again the "accomplishments" could be pretty negative. So is the risk worth it?

Well, let's also not forget that birth rates are actually going DOWN world wide, as is fertility in most developed nation's. There's no worry about over population, it's more than likely not going to be a thing.

Real quick before I have patients come in, to the person who mentioned that plan b is like murder/abortion since it affects dividing cells, it actually doesn't. Plan B's mechanism of action is to stop ovulation so there is no implantation and/or alter sperm transport. There is currently no evidence that it works after fertilization
