What is love to you?

Let's get down to the Greeks, they had some good words and descriptions of love. Agápe: A love that requires nothing in return. Think of how you love family or for some here, how you love your children unconditionally. Philia: Love of friends aka friendship. Call it enjoying the company of another and that can include family as well. Eros: Sort of self explanatory. Erotic love. Love of the flesh. However, understand that love of the flesh does not have to mean lust. That's why there's fucking and then there's making love. Neither are inherently bad, just quite different in the heart. I'd compare eros to infatuation and how easy it is to confuse that with unconditional love.

Life is a challenge. It is filled with various degrees of physical and/or mental suffering. Tough times, sad days, loneliness etc. For some it is often and for some not so much. Other times it is filled with all of the opposites of that, with joy. Love is that something that helps you live your life over the times both rough and warm. It is caring, sacrifice, mutual understanding, acceptance, willing to listen and to give advice + help when someone needs it or wants to improve. It is being there for support unconditionally. And love to me is all of this directed only to a select few so that we don't muddy the meaning and deepness of it. Other forms of actions are fractions of that whole, of true love. When you truly love someone the only thing you hope but not demand from it is that some day the other side will love you too, though it is not on your mind when you act upon love.

Generally, love is sometimes "to like a lot". For generally people, animals and even some projects including cooking and gifting, it's effort and care. For specifically toward a dating partner, it takes studying carefully about each other, then the more green flags pop up with the couple, the greater the chance of love grows toward each other in connecting each other as long as they compliment and live well together.

Love to me is where you're able to feel as comfortable with one another regardless of the subject or what you're doing~ Love is where you're safe with that special person~

@teacup lap pillows are sacred Nah but in all honesty, love for me would be being able to share my most precious moments with someone who made me happy just being around them. I dont think its an experience i've ever felt. Strange cuz i have dated people before XD but i wouldnt say i truly loved them that way
