That nothing is ever as it seems, and as my mother would say, '' Believe only half of what you see, and nothing that you hear and, only trust in yourself and what you know.''
Which I figured is a self-explained expression but, it effectively means nothing is ever as it seems, so when you see a scenario going down, a car crash or an altercation between people, if you aren't right there RIGHT exactly as it happens, you can't believe what you see, there could be more. Even if you're RIGHT there as it begins, these people could have known each other beforehand so it isn't everything either or a full story. ''Nothing that you hear'' implies to drama being spread, gossip etc. Everyone is always the talk of the town, so ignore anything bad or even good that you hear because people like to just talk. The last bit is trusting your intuition when something is off or wrong or maybe just not for you to get involved in and to walk away. A form to protect yourself from getting into troubles and woes that doesn't or won't concern you, because then people will try to make it all about you in the end and target you.
Another way to see it, The legend of the three wise monkeys has its origin in Chinese mythology. It tells a striking story starring three curious characters. The protagonists are Kikazaru, the monkey that doesn't hear, Iwazaru, the monkey that doesn't speak and Mizaru, the monkey that doesn't see.

While this is a "confession", it's also life advice.
There are times I'm reminded of just how blind I've allowed myself to become over the years and a brief introspective view can often renew that lost sight. I've been spoiled by what I do have and often have taken it all for granted in lieu of what I don't. I have been granted so many precious gems and have lost sight of them for far too long.
Be glad for what you do have.

Being responsible and wise with your money is good, but don't deprive yourself opportunities for enjoyment too much. Learn to strike a balance so you can use and enjoy the money you have saved. Whatever your financial status may be, there are little things you can apply this to. Cut some unnecessary junk food out of your diet. In exchange, buy the really good cheese and crackers. Go to the fancy store for that extra sharp ghost pepper cheddar and buttery crackers with sea salt or olive oil. I'm actually serious about that example. High quality cheese and crackers for anime snack time legit feels like a class upgrade in my lifestyle. Which goes into another piece of advice. Appreciate the little things.

Have fun with life. I had an interaction with @verucassault today when I was putting up groceries.
I held a frozen bag of meatballs between my legs and said, "Hey, look at my balls!"
She was holding our cat and lifted him up and said, "Check out my pussy!"
Good times.
