Ah yes, pedophilia. That seems like an awesome joke. Right? It's pathetic jokes like those that mar up the community more than anything. Its not as cute nor as funny as some seem to think. Lolita and shota by definition are not meant to be "cute". A child in anime does not equal Lolita or shota, they're just a cute kid. A child that's sexualized is either Lolita or shota. It's the difference between calling a kid sexy and cute.

Loli and shota look to be words that are under a state of rapid evolution, and are used in different ways by as many different people. I have seen them used to describe an art style, a character type, and of course the lewd side pretty much interchangeably. Its like the word Trap, which classically just meant a guy who could pass for a girl, but is now seen as an insult towards trans individuals by many. Language can be funny like that.

Now Now this right now is the problem of use of wording and speeches... we understand under loli and shota as the children in anime, and Lolicon as the ppls who likes those things which we use as a term to descibe ourself. Atleast I do cause I couldn't care less. I know lolicon is short for Lolitakomplex, which in term is Pedophelia hust* Now I joke about everything and that is my character, I know some ppl just can't take joke like this one. Soo I just will not care anymore. I already give you my standards: 2d Lolis are cute. 3d Lolis are just meh. Ofc I don't lewd any of this, I don't even like lewding my Chracters I know from Animes I have watched... Now I'm done take it as you like it, I'm out of this conversation. It got way too serious... I hate beeing serious about anything...

Language can be funny, but why not just call them kids? Why should anyone think it's perverse, if it's "clearly" not? Terms are terms for a reason. Change the wording then. It's not for me to figure out, it's for you to make explicitly clear. Again, if I called a kid sexy, but meant cute(got a dumb sister in-law that does that), what would you think if I didn't clarify? Even so, isn't it a very strange term to use for cute?

I mean, even cute can mean sexy. Some words can just be taken many different ways. All we can do is try and discern context, and be as specific as possible. Of course then we can also run into language barriers, for those communicating in a 2nd/3rd/etc language, which can also create different interpretations. Language and humans as a whole are flawed. But we just have to work with what we have :) .

Context is key. But, I was getting to the original comment that started this. If someone has to question what you mean, you may need to clarify. If I as a man, called a little girl sexy, you bet your ass I'd get more than just odd looks. The context being in who said it and how. If I said cute, they'd understand right away that I wasn't sexualizing the kid. Using a term that most understand to mean one thing, while you mean another, does not put you in the right.

Cute is never sexy. Its anime Yasshat just get your head out of your butthole its suck there. Cute is only cute. And it can never be sexy personally. I only like ANIME shotas like how I like puppies, Get off my dick. They are cute and THATS ALL.

@yaasshat well I don't know if you are right now just trolling around... Can't understand how you can't understand the meaning of words in certain context. We use loli/shota for cute children in the anime community just deal with it, it's not our fault if you understand sth else under it...
