15. Eat salmon and tuna (omega 3 fatty acid)
16. Sleep is a very important tool in fighting depression, but sometimes depression can make u insomniac and that will worsen the depression which can in turn worsen the insomnia, such cases are usually due to anxiety associated with depression so take some light anxiolytics and sleeping pills if you are not able to sleep, if you dont have anxiety with depression then this is not necessary.

I usually meditate, talk/hangout with friends, exercise, or try to focus on something to fight it off. Also, I switched my diet to something a bit healthier (a lot less takeout and pizza, no red meats, etc) and I noticed that helped, too. But, every now and again, things can become overwhelming and I'll shut down. It's important to try to stay in contact with people since it really helps. That and having a good sleep schedule (A good sleep for me is 8-9 hours).
If its really serious and none of the above helped, then contact a good doctor or psychologist that will work with you about your depression and not just shove pills at you to make you go away.

Been just "dealing" with it for a little over 20yrs. It's a weight I constantly feel, but I don't let it define me. Good thing about weights is, if you lift them enough, you get stronger. It's usually manageable, but I can tell my cognitive process, particularly memory, has been getting affected a bit more as of late. Probably should see a professional, but I'm just a poor boy avoiding the expensive American medical system.
