Reasonable Age Of Consent

Vamp, Kind of an odd fascination. Again, the average was not that young, even if law permitted it. The average now is not much below 15-16 for having sex. My issue is with those who try to justify their actions thru idiotic arguments "But, it used to be younger... It should be old enough to bleed, old enough to breed.". Sex is not the issue, the intent of those who should know better than a teenager, is.

yasshat, My first gf was 16 when I was 21, I was a virgin and she wasn't. Her mom was ok with it and it was legal in my state so obviously I would be paying close attention to age of consent laws. But after dating a few teen girls I decided they were too much emotional trouble. They would be sooo in love with you and 5 minutes later they didn't know you existed because they were soooo in love with some other guy. Not worth the trouble.

Vamp, I understand and in your case, I wouldn't even call it criminal.

16 I think is a good age. Tbh I have heard of people in my peer group losing it at 10. Another thing to point out is that most of the people in my peer group have already lost theirs. Changing the law to a lower age might help but the issue would still be at hand.

The push for 18 being the age of consent in the USA gained momentum starting around the early 90s when the invention of the internet brought child porn to the attention of the general public. It was all over the net in the early days along with bestiality and everything else. They figured that raising the age of consent would stop child porn but these days it's mostly kids putting themselves and each other on the internet and lawmakers are still trying to figure out how to deal with it. But consent laws really have no effect on the quantity of cp produced.
