@Kameiya: Yep. I have a disease where I can only cosplay OCs. So that's my outfit for my D&D character, Tobias Wren. A half elf ranger. I'm walking around the con dressed as that with my foam weapons drawn as if I'm exploring a dungeon. Every time I pass an Alstalfo cosplayer, I'm just like "There it goes again. Why the heck does my amulet of trap sense keep going off like that?" Then I start checking the walls and floors for trap mechanisms. When I approach places I need a badge for, I describe to them like I'm talking to a DM how I "Activate my talisman of access." Right now my current quest is that I need to find "Da Wey", so I'm trying to find a mage cosplayer who is high enough level to open a portal to what my character perceives is a mystical sylvan path. But I'm le tired right now, so I'm resting.

I do wish i lnew how to properly do cosplays. My zakuro one ended up a bust. The shoets ripped cuz it was too tight. Man, i felt fat that day due to that.

Yes, getting into character is the best way to enhance the convention experience. Not only do you make it more fun for yourself, but you also make it more fun for those around you. Also, I should have some high quality pics of me coming in some time after the con via facebook to make up for the poor quality pics I posted earlier. Jeeze, that's sad. Zakuro from Tokyo Mew Mew, right? I hate when cosplays die like that.

Yep! Two people did recognize my character though. The girl hugged me cuz there wasn't enough mew mew love anymore. Given it is an older anime that hasn't continued that isn't surprising. I have noticed most cosplays were frlm new popular ones or on going ones. Oh! I can send a pic of the mew mew necklace of my cosplay. Don't make fun of me! It was one of my first times making cosplay and doing it! Plus, i was on a budget and needed cheap stuff.

Yeah, every so often I see obscure anime cosplays that people are surprised I even know where they are from. But for the most part, it is mostly mainstream anime, or anime with a strong cult base. (Gah, there are still homestuck trolls running around!) But given we're the same age, and anime back then was less assessable, we probably grew up watching a lot of the same stuff. I always loved the character designs in that anime. Psh, My first cosplay was Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket, and I even messed that one up, so I'm in no room to judge. In fact, I think it's pretty nifty. XD
