Sounds like you just gotta prove em wrong and maybe separate yourself from them as soon as you can.

My brother scores really high in university and as a younger sibling they expect me to at least be as good if not better. They also put me into art school, music school and all types of sports when I was a kid. My parents overall have very high expectations. I did get bitch slapped a lot by my mum during puberty because I had my moments and we fought constantly... She also loved throwing stuff at us.. which once ended with my brother having to go to hospital with a head wound. I also remember one time she threw a plate with food in it at me because I didn't want to eat it and I ended up going to school with a bruised lip. Looking back this is actually hilarious to me.. so nah, none of her behavior traumatized me. It made me a stronger person if anything. Russian parents are on a different level from western parents.. I wouldn't say that my parents are abusive as a whole.. they're just very extreme. My Mum told me a couple times that she regretted having me.. that was probably the only thing that really got to me. She also used every insult of the Russian language and invented a couple for me and my brother, lmao.. Love that crazy psycho anyway and she loves us. She would probably kill for us if she had to. So would my Dad.. to him I'll probably always be his little, precious princess. Now that I grew up and they grew wiser with age we hardly fight anymore.. unless it's about politics or gay rights. Reading this.. to someone outside the whole siituation my parents probably are abusive.. oO

@Hadesu Nah, they didn't give me any advice, just ask why I couldn't succeed tho.

When I was a child, I saw this on TV. Then I realized it was my own path that I had to walk in life. https://youtu.be/TfadJj4d5K4

It's a cycle. they used the same way that their parents raised them. And didn't bother about the generation gaps. I don't like that they won't listen to me, even I got more reasonable than them.

My mom is very much like that. So I can relate. D: And if I point that out she will just get worse. I suggest that you move out when you get the chance. Until then try to tell them "I know." and just keep saying that. It will bore them, and they'll stop trying to kind of pick a fight with you.

My stepdad was a cop, so I got bullied by him. He was a bully in highschool and wanted to teach me and my brother to not be weak. He always said my mom coddled us, and some days I loathed him. However, I think I'm a tougher guy today because of it. I used to be afraid of bullies but in highschool I scared them off. I think tough love works on certain people, so I don't regret anything.

People tried to bully me in school. Then I pull our my crazy-physco-pissed off mode and they scurry away. People in my family tried to bully me as well, let's just say it's no fun having me shun you for life... even after you regret doing what you did...
