My problem with the "shy" people is the fact that they don't know the difference between being shy and beind anti-social. Anti-Social and Shy are 2 completely different things. I'm a very shy person when it comes to women that I like so I get how it can be hard for some to get out of their shell and talk to people. If you go to a "dating" website, make a profile and lurk, you're not shy, you're anti-social. If you're trying to make friends with someone and you don't have a picture of yourself up on your page, maybe not your main profile pic but at least 1 pic of you somewhere in your collection, you're not being shy, you're being anti-social. When you leave a conversation because someone says something that you disagree with, you're not being shy, you're being anti-social. When you see a picture of a beautiful person and you click their page and read that they like the same anime you do and enjoy some activities that you do and that person happens to live near you and you want to say hi but are afraid of what to say because you don't wanna make a bad first impression so you don't say anything right then and constantly think of what you should say, you're not being anti-social, you're shy. So yeah. There's a clean and clear cut difference between the 2.

I'm a bit shy, Use to be way worse. I'm quite assertive now though. But I agree with your points. There is a difference between shy and anti-social.

You're right. You can become anti-social because you're so shy. But that's generally a result of something you do, maybe unconsciously, but it's still a end to a means.

I'm often told that I'm anti-social but I don't believe so. I'm just one to believe that it's better to be alone than in bad company.

That almost sounded like the Jeff Foxworthy "You might be a redneck if..." But it's the Kichigai version: "You might be anti-social if..."

You got me there. I'm definitely more on the anti-social side haha. At some point I started caring what people thought about me, so I don't normally don't speak that often. Can't really get judged too much if you don't say anything right? Saying that, I am trying to fix it. I am somewhat more active on here these days than I was when I first joined. Baby steps eh? XD

^^^ You are seriously the kind of people I fucking love. The struggle is real. But as long as you at least attempt to overcome any and all obstacles, you're progressing. I love that
