Being friends with an ex?

not currently in a relationship bec. my feelings got drifted off and didnt like some of the person's traits. My personal choice to be single for now and reserved myself for a better one in the future ^^ Actually it's my 1st ex who wants to be friends but it's so awkward since he's in a relationship with my used to be close online friend. I chose to stay quiet for now.

It got to awkward for my ex. I tried and really had no issue myself. I know and understand it can be hard to separate old emotions.

I've had a few that we were able to maintain some sort of friendship, but for the most part I prefer not to have anything to do with my ex's.

Im still best friends with my ex and are living together. It really depends on how you two broke up. It can be awkward for some people.

I had one ex that did end up dating a close friend. It was very awkward and difficult at first and I kept a lot of distance until I was over the relationship and resolved those feelings. She ended up marrying someone else and moved away but still drops a line on FB to say hi sometimes because we were really good friends long before dating each other. There is no easy answer to that, it relies heavily on the people and situations. The last woman I dated was a very serious relationship and we almost got married after living together a couple years. We tried to be friends afterwards and it was just too awkward and stopped trying after a few times because she kept wanting to get back together without addressing why we split up. It can go either way....

@eriesea: That's really surprising that you guys even live together :O my ex wants me to be his close friend again but I am keeping my distance as he keeps on complimenting me and still blaming me for what has happened to him. It was him who took me for granted and really treated me so badly before. I tried to fix our issue before but he was always angry and doesnt even answer if he still loves me or not. For four weeks, I waited for a response of yes or no but didnt get any answer which leads me to decide to break up. Since I prayed during those times that if he answered yes, the relationship continues and if he doesnt answer, I guess I should end things up because I have been depressed (crying) that it affected my schooling. @DarkuSchneider: That last paragraph of yours, hmmmm. My 1st ex kept on messaging me everyday while I was in a relationship before that he wanted me back and was being depressed and crying everyday bec. I broke up with him. It was really a very tough situation since I was stuck in the middle so I decided to break up with the guy I was dating at that time due to my parents' wishes, my studies and personal choice. Then my 1st ex told me he could wait for me even a year but then 2 days after that he said he was so afraid of me that he doesnt want to get back to me anymore. After 3 days, he was already in a relationship with my close friend. My latest ex told me that there's a possibility we can get back in the future and now he's flirting with a bunch of girls xD And I realized that both of them are not the right man for me. I realized that I was just gonna wait for the right man in the future :)

It depends on the person, My first Ex? No way in hell, she was just a witch that played with peoples feelings. Though if I was the persons friend before hand(Which I do now by code), I guess, Maybe. It would be very awkward at times, Plus it would probably annoy the hell outta of their new partner and my own. So it would just be difficult. Plus if we were ever really serious it would just be a painful at first. So I guess yeah it could work out, But it wouldn't be easy, Especially at first. Also I'm sorry to hear about that, Those guys sound like real jerks to me.
