Being unable to move, being half awake, and feeling something sit on your chest is called sleep paralysis. The mechanism isn't well understood, but keeping your body limber as possible is actually a good measure to reduce it. It can also be a precursor to sleep apnea for others. So keep an eye on how often it happens.

Are we going to hell if we laugh at this?

We have songs such as "Ring around the rosies" and "London bridge is falling down". I wonder if in a few hundred years children will be singing "The twin towers are falling down"?
yaasshat
yaasshat @yaasshat Only if you believe. ;)
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora Fair point. I'd be going te hell ten times over for all the evil shit I've done, guess the least of those sins would be laughing at a dark meme.

Yeah, I can draw pictures but I can't take 'em even if there was $10,000 dollars on the line. Mainly angles and lighting.

@yuuzora You're not alone. I even took beautiful photos of double rainbows and cloud formations and I understand what you mean.

It was just my car, but I used this blur background tool on the little app I use to fix my horrible picture taking skills. Mostly it's angle and lighting I suck at. I am fine drawing pictures, but taking them is worse than letting a baby play with the camera features. XD

I think this photo looks OK. I like your outfit. I'm more curious about what is behind you though. Is that a T-rex foot? Whatever you do, don't turn around. Their vision is based on movement.

Thank you. And sorry to be so direct. I at least like the chance to know you, but if I'm not your speed, I don't want to waste your time either. :)

I should apologize to people who see me on, but I don't answer your message yet. It's because I think carefully about what you mean and form my responses slowly. I promise I'm not ignoring. I'm thinking. :)
twobananasshyofapumpkinpie
TwoShy @twobananasshyofapumpkinpie I don't think you should apologize to any of us. >:D Who are we to demand your time and attention? I'll die on that hill lmao. Please take all the time you need.

Photography counts at art in my votes. And this is really a great shot.

Not sure if photography counts in this thread, but I managed to get these shots of the moon last night. For the first time the lighting was just right and actually got the craters and texture of the moon captured.

Do you even read a person's profile before sending a friend request?
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido I love reading profiles
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora That's relief. I've been getting some requests, but no one tries to introduce themselves, so I wonder how they even get the idea to send a request on a photo and a name and not anything else? Perhaps should put it a bit more clearly somehow. Like in my profile picture. x.x
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido Sadly some people just want to collect "friends" for boosting their numbers and such.
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora On here? Though maybe it's also what I see with those people on dating apps that swipe right on every single person trying to get a match? The need for validation can be scary. x.x
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido Not just on here in any online spaces.
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora It's either weird or we're the weird ones. It'll be fun rigging up a profile picture that evokes that sort of "the quickest way to irritate me is to not read and/or follow basic instructions". XD
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido They won't read that either sadly TwT. I try to make any of my profiles give basic info about me. Usually my interests as that's the best way to talk with me.
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora Yeah I added my interests and basic info, but mostly I had to lay it flat with people seeking immediate romance. It hasn't stopped anyone from trying, but I need to at least have that neat little "I told you so in the..." when they show their desperation too soon. You have to deal with those sorts, too? I remember right, you're not looking for dates right now.
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido It's not too common for me but I have ran into it. I'm someone who needs to build up a friendship before it turns into a relationship. Right now I'm not really looking I need to work on myself. If it happens organically I am okay with that but I don't want to push anything
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora Aye, likewise on both accounts. A close emotional bond is required, otherwise I cannot feel attraction. So people who expect immediate results will just be frustrated and I will chop their head off if they try to move me along at their desired pace. I'm glad you haven't dealt with it too much. You don't deal with creepers, do you? Those ones are the worst. Just on here, the results are truly scary.
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido thankfully no, I think my tough front scares them off. Unfortunately I think it's a bigger issue for women users. Which is really a shame.
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora I'm so glad you haven't had to deal with creepers. They really are scary enough to off put the entire process of meeting new people. Especially the coverts. They seem all fine, but you can tell something is beneath the surface. You want to think better of people so you ignore it. Then they show their real face soon as you catch them saying what they really think. Some of them genuinely do not see you as human... Like you're just a consumable product they want and if they save up enough raport, they can use it to purchase what they want from you. So I understand why some people will give up on dating after experiences like those. ;n;
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido They do sound very dehumanizing. I can be mean when I need to so I would scare them off. I'm a highly sensitive person so I usually pick up on bad intentions.
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora Likewise, I just experienced enough gaslighting as a child to make me ignore things out of fear of misjudgings. Even if I've yet to be wrong. And yeah, it's scary, disheartening, and can leave a person bitter and terrified. A lot of avoidant-dismissive behaviors stem from those sorts of encounters. Rebuilding the ability to trust and a willingness to 'chop the head off' is a delicate balance that is proving difficult to learn. What about you? Do you have any attachments styles you're aware of?
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido oh yeah, I do. I think have some level of attachment disorder. I'd be happy to talk about it more if you don't mind PM.

I'll give it a go. I did find a much more efficient program, but I still need to draw all the rigs with Krita. It's still quite the learning curve, though. Q.Q
twobananasshyofapumpkinpie
Might I suggest buying Richard Williams The Animator's Survival Kit (Or the expanded edition)? Richard Williams was the director of animation for "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and the book is worth its weight in gold for all the fundamental animation knowledge it contains. It's pretty cheap now too.
twobananasshyofapumpkinpie
TwoShy @twobananasshyofapumpkinpie What do you mean by rigs? I'm not used to that term being applied to 2D animation. Krita has an animation mode with multiple layers, channels and playback frame rates. Or has Krita upgraded and now allows for 'bones' to be added to a picture to be rigged for animation? I might be using an older model of Krita if that's the case...
twobananasshyofapumpkinpie
TwoShy @twobananasshyofapumpkinpie Also The Animator's Survival Kit isn't a program, it's a book meant to help new animator's master the fundamentals quickly. Instead of learning on the go, it'll give you a more focused approach. What to learn, what to learn next and why it's important to learn it in this order and examples of what it's asking you to do. The only shortcoming it has is that it expects you to already be at least an intermediate skill level at drawing.
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora I honestly don't know any of the technical terms for anything. I just now am learning about skeletons and bones. So that's probably what I mean by rigs. I am aware you meant a book. Sorry my English is awful. I haven't been to the library in a while, but it's a good reason to.

I usually hate sax with a burning passion, but can appreciate the talents from time to time.

Rose Mommy ® @wei_ying Wahh!? I don't know how you could hate such a beautiful sounding instrument, but to each their own ^^. But then again, I think I just like the sound of mostly every instrument XD. I don't care for the way bagpipes sound
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora My feelings around saxophone are that I'd rather listen to a crumhorn concerto for 48 hours. Mainly some of the most boring, awful droll moments I had to spend in the immigration offices, they always played the same sax music. I don't mind bagpipes, as they're nostalgic, but I can understand why some don't like them. Same with Bassoon and Viola.
wei_ying
Rose Mommy ® @wei_ying They should've spiced up the music options XD. And I don't know if I've ever heard a bassoon or viola before?
