Wishing everyone on MaiOtaku a good week ahead. Gonna post a better set of moon photos tomorrow and Gonna test a new macro lens I just bought on some flowers. What is everyone else up to this week?
wei_ying
Rose Mommy ® @wei_ying Thank you, Cookie! I hope you have just as great of a week as well. And I'm not up to much as usual (at least I don't think so), just chillin' with the family as usual

I am super prone to boredom. Mostly due to hyper activity. I'll watch some anime, do some exercise or play a game. I try to lean more into the exercise part so I can sleep better that night. I feel like I would want bird wings. Because then I could use the feathers for other stuff. Like selling hand made fans or tribal head pieces. Not sure where I would fly to since I don't know how fast a human with wings could fly. But it might make trips to work and the beach easier at least. Also they are objectively called flip flops.

More questions: 1. How often are you bored? 2. How do you cure boredom? 3. If you could fly, where would you go? 4. Would you prefer bird wings or bat wings? 5. Do you call them sandals or flip flops or...?

Have a busy weekend ahead. I'll be planting clover seeds fir my garden soon. Lately I have been missing the site of the clover fields where I used to live. Since I am planting bee focused flowers lately, might as well start making have my own mi I clover field while I am at it. Fun fact for plant lovers. Clovers are actually quite good plants to have for lawns and gardens. They naturally self fertilize the soil by releasing nitrogen into the soil.

I think this photo looks OK. I like your outfit. I'm more curious about what is behind you though. Is that a T-rex foot? Whatever you do, don't turn around. Their vision is based on movement.

Pic
Trying to post a new picture isn't working on my profile for some reason. Please feel free to ignore this! It's highly edited because I'm so bad at taking pictures I could make a rainbow look like shit. The lighting in the original is so bad it looks like it was taken in the 70s with a shoe.

Rose Mommy ® @wei_ying You are too kind, sugar! XD Thank you, cookie! ❤️

Yes. I used a Minolta AF500 lens for this. Really good for distant bright objects. I'll try zooming in more with other attachments next time. Had to crop this down more than I wanted to.
verucassault
@squirrelatemycookie Nice. Did you do these with a camera?
squirrelatemycookie
Well. Better get a goat to sacrifice so your demon familiar can craft a new one.

Criselington @criselington Nah I just need the soul of a baby and a piece of wood from the oldest tree to exist to fix it

Always. A: I want to know what the person has to say about themselves before I say hello. B: it is literally the bare minimum in vetting fake profiles. There are several around here with a pretty picture, but the About Me says "We are a new company of blah blah blah innovating in new methods of BS that has no business being on a dating site."

Do you even read a person's profile before sending a friend request?
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido I love reading profiles
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora That's relief. I've been getting some requests, but no one tries to introduce themselves, so I wonder how they even get the idea to send a request on a photo and a name and not anything else? Perhaps should put it a bit more clearly somehow. Like in my profile picture. x.x
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido Sadly some people just want to collect "friends" for boosting their numbers and such.
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora On here? Though maybe it's also what I see with those people on dating apps that swipe right on every single person trying to get a match? The need for validation can be scary. x.x
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido Not just on here in any online spaces.
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora It's either weird or we're the weird ones. It'll be fun rigging up a profile picture that evokes that sort of "the quickest way to irritate me is to not read and/or follow basic instructions". XD
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido They won't read that either sadly TwT. I try to make any of my profiles give basic info about me. Usually my interests as that's the best way to talk with me.
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora Yeah I added my interests and basic info, but mostly I had to lay it flat with people seeking immediate romance. It hasn't stopped anyone from trying, but I need to at least have that neat little "I told you so in the..." when they show their desperation too soon. You have to deal with those sorts, too? I remember right, you're not looking for dates right now.
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido It's not too common for me but I have ran into it. I'm someone who needs to build up a friendship before it turns into a relationship. Right now I'm not really looking I need to work on myself. If it happens organically I am okay with that but I don't want to push anything
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora Aye, likewise on both accounts. A close emotional bond is required, otherwise I cannot feel attraction. So people who expect immediate results will just be frustrated and I will chop their head off if they try to move me along at their desired pace. I'm glad you haven't dealt with it too much. You don't deal with creepers, do you? Those ones are the worst. Just on here, the results are truly scary.
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido thankfully no, I think my tough front scares them off. Unfortunately I think it's a bigger issue for women users. Which is really a shame.
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora I'm so glad you haven't had to deal with creepers. They really are scary enough to off put the entire process of meeting new people. Especially the coverts. They seem all fine, but you can tell something is beneath the surface. You want to think better of people so you ignore it. Then they show their real face soon as you catch them saying what they really think. Some of them genuinely do not see you as human... Like you're just a consumable product they want and if they save up enough raport, they can use it to purchase what they want from you. So I understand why some people will give up on dating after experiences like those. ;n;
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido They do sound very dehumanizing. I can be mean when I need to so I would scare them off. I'm a highly sensitive person so I usually pick up on bad intentions.
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora Likewise, I just experienced enough gaslighting as a child to make me ignore things out of fear of misjudgings. Even if I've yet to be wrong. And yeah, it's scary, disheartening, and can leave a person bitter and terrified. A lot of avoidant-dismissive behaviors stem from those sorts of encounters. Rebuilding the ability to trust and a willingness to 'chop the head off' is a delicate balance that is proving difficult to learn. What about you? Do you have any attachments styles you're aware of?
kuharido
Ghost @kuharido oh yeah, I do. I think have some level of attachment disorder. I'd be happy to talk about it more if you don't mind PM.
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora Right? Makes sense. Bots, scammers, idiots, narcissists, etc. A profile can really filter a lot of that out. So it would make sense to read at least the first parts of one. But perhaps we're the outliers?
