The first guy Kyle killed ran up to him without even having a gun on him at all. These people clearly weren't the sharpest crayons in the toolbox. Regardless of where they were the fact is Kyle didn't even aim his gun at the guy while he was a few feet away and had his hands in the air, he only fired when the guy was 2 feet away from him and had the gun pointed directly at him as per the defense lawyers cross-examination

Yeah kinda weird how you would run up to a guy with an AR instead of shooting him from 12 feet away, but I mean I guess you could argue adrenaline kicked in.
