That sounds pretty awesome bro! I hope you have a lot of energy b/c kids are so energetic. I always get tired out by my nieces and nephews when I hang out w/ them, but it's always fun though ^^. If you had to teach something like Calculus, I feel like you'd probably have to be a math major and an education major lol, so it's good you're starting w/ younger kids. I think the toughest age group might be middle schoolers, b/c it's usually around the time kids are going through puberty and transitioning. So much drama and mood swings ~_~...
Onizuka @averageboss Most likely on the middle school front, though high schools are getting very bad around here from what I hear. Though requirements vary state by state in the US.
In Florida, there are three different paths to becoming an educator. The path I am taking simply requires a Bachelors degree, and display of subject mastery through testing (though those tests are over $100 each to take). K-6 is just a set of 4 tests that cover general subject matter. But each subject, at each further grade level has its own separate test (so like 7th grade Algebra, 8th grade Geometry, etc). The Adult Learning Center (were people come for their GEDs) has separate requirements, but its much easier to get into with prior teaching experience at lower levels.
Neverland @dakoya Oh, that's so interesting. My sister is a nurse and she says there's some kind of the same stuff they have to do as well and how it also differs a bit state by state. You're gonna have to deal with so many things bro as a teacher.... I was talking to someone just now and got reminded that schools are a center of germs and stuff like that... gah... >.<...
Onizuka @averageboss I am at least used to the germs thing with a decade in retail. But ya, its going to be an entirely new experience.
Neverland @dakoya Ah, well good luck w/ that bro. I guess, just have a bottle of hand sanitizer around lol. I think it'll be fun if you can stay in contact w/ a few of your students and watch them grow. I remember one teacher who left a lasting impression on me. Even to this day, I remember her b/c she was really nice to me and went beyond her duties as a teacher to help me in life. Maybe you can do something like that for your students, kind of like how GTO did lol.
