My memories of time year back in my childhood are of my mother making small mountains of pork spring rolls that she would fry one after another. They were considerably thicker than the ones that you find in Thai restaurants. Nowadays, it's too much hassle for my mom to cook like that, so we go to a Chinese buffet or they bring back something from Philly's China Town. ^^; I certainly lacked culture as a kid, but on the flip side, my parents never tried to force religion onto me.

Mochi is amazing. ^^ The Hawaiian restaurant down the street sells blocks of butter mochi. The 7-11 that's even closer sold strawberry and melon flavored filling mochi cakes. I bet the stuff you make is even better. :)
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora It's decent. The trick is teamwork, though I don't let oldest sister help with that anymore, since she does not have good timing. I'm surprised I didn't break my wrist then. XD I usually make mikan mochi, lavender, and vanilla bean. Since no one likes the azuki paste but me, I leave it for other desserts. What other New Year foods have you tried?

Ah, it's Valentines Day. To make it a bit special for someone, I left a gift in my profile. It'll be there till the end of this month. I'd appreciate it if you post a reply if you redeem it.

That's unfortunate... true, you can always make/get any of those things at any time. But, it has a special meaning when done during a celebration. I guess we should be happy that more and more places are celebrating it in the US with sales targeting this holiday?
yuuzora
yuuzora @yuuzora True. Even this po'd'unk town I live in had a tiny display. Granted it had stuff that was like pocky for fuck's sake. But that they were beginning to connect the dots is hopeful. Maybe someday they'll have mochi? lolol

Well, at least 2 of those 3 game have endings. ^_^ I seem to love punishing myself with my rotation of FEH, Diablo IV and Street Fighter 6. It's amazing that I can pull off victories in Street Fighter nowadays at my age. ^^;

Eating out with the class in high school sounds much more fun way to spend this holiday than the figure it out on your own apathy of my high school. I did have one person that was interested in me back then that I could have done something with if there was such an activity. However, it never really did work out back then.... I was clueless and she was and still is held back by her faith. Ah, I really wish I could inspire you with tales of my youth, but I might have been less fortunate in love than you at these points in your life. *laughs*

I agree it's a great outfit for your character. It's unfortunate that I have too many time sinks to even consider playing FF 14. Had to drop playing the Skull Girls mobile game since even it was eating too much of my time. Maybe it's a good thing that I can resist spending money on the gatcha even though I play FEH?

Mylovelyreaper @rukia21love I mange my time with a few games. Right now it's been slow and really all I log in to do is raid and save my house when it's in the last few days of being taken away. Been going between bg3, P3r and 14.

You missed out! It's definitely a trope in entertainment, but a fun one. My elementary school class had it set so you gave candy to everyone. If someone did get a private stache I failed that perception check. ^^; I did have a friend who did attend a Catholic School. Was yours co-ed or girls only?

amarantha @amarantha We are mixed with different sections. But population of girls is bigger than boys. I transferred to a public school way back highschool, and it’s the same population. But as to how we celebrate it we also dont exchange candies, we just eat out with classmates in a resto/fast food. I did experience getting flowers/chocolates/balloons/jewelry from special someone. But I wish we did more activities as a class.
