Confessions

Day 2 at work. As per inquiries as to which days I work, I seem to get mixed signals. My temp agency says "Ask your manager." And my Japanese manager seems too perplexed by the question to give me an answer. Do they have 24/7 hour work weeks in Japan or something? Anyways, I was lucky. I clocked in on a day I work at exactly the right time. Today was apparently one of their more "Overwhelming days", and I spent the entire day listening to complaints from fellow coworkers, feeling like a 3rd world refugee does when listening to someone venting their frustrations of their 1st world problems. When my co-worker tried vented about how much of a mess the automatic flash shavers made on the floor, I did mention "At least you don't have to do it manually and end up with the same mess, along with your blood on the floor." My co-worker just looked at me weird and slowly backed away when he realized I was serious. Heard him say off to the side to someone else "That kid's seen some shit at his last job." I wondered if I should bring up the ghost stories I had from working at the gap before that one, but decided against it. I probably shouldn't freak them out any more than I already may have. Anyways, the saga shall continue.
