Of course not all depression is caused by a chemical imbalance and I'd argue that even when it is, there are a lot of other complications involved. However, the only people I've heard argue about depression not being a chemical at all, they've usually not experienced it. I can say that having stability would help, absolutely. But to say that'd cure my depression? I don't think so. There are so many variables on either side that there is not a one size fits all solution. The difference in how I personally feel with medication vs without are night and day. Medication is a tool, not a cure and it's just as much of a tool as going to a therapist or anything else that brings about a better you. We barely understand just how society has an impact on mental health, but we do know the are tools. I've never been one to believe that medication is a need, rather it's a tool for those that need it. Can't build a house with just a hammer, but it certainly helps.

At the end of the day, everyone faces challenges and problems. No matter where we are or what we're doing, thing will come our way. Personally, I had it really bad at home, but being in this place compounds the issue even more, you can imagine (if confused, see my profile). Unless you've been in this place, and walked in these shoes, no one can truly understand how hurt you become. This place is the epitome of loneliness, of depression, of anger and hate and restlessness. Every day I wake up with the same mentality of why in the world am I still alive ? I've lost the grandparents who raised me as well as my mother. I don't even have a home to go home to anymore if I got out today. How sad is that ? You think your life sucks ? You think it's hard out there? Well, take solace that you're not living your life in here. That is a blessing in and of itself. I do what I can, and try my hardest day in and day out. But sometimes...it just doesn't feel good enough...what can I possibly do ?

What can you do? Find reason, your reason.

https://youtu.be/_NrOD4Cp7OY Narcissism is the tendency to think grandly of oneself, to the point of losing respect and compassion for others. The narcissist is a person who is selfish, vain and obsessed with attention. It’s all about them, all of the time. People are accessories to them, and little more than a disposable means to meet their own ends. The narcissist is dangerous and toxic. But they also exist all around us. Narcissists are generally grandiose people who lack empathy for those around them, while also harboring arrogant, self-centered, demanding or manipulative tendancies. They have to be in control, and they have to be viewed as being “superior” or “in charge”. These tendencies, more often than not, stem from deep-rooted insecurities and issues that stem from childhood trauma.
