I just want to get it off my chest... you know it’s more of a guilt confession. About a year ago. I was doing routine patrol calls with a buddy of mine. His name was Caffrey he was a Philippino man who could never speak English properly. Great guy had a daughter and wife. His nickname was El chapo and mine was Stalin. (Inside joke) One night we were called to a domestic disturbance at a trailer which was a typical run down low budget trailer. When we arrived we were informed that there was a possibility of a knife or some sort of bladed weapon involved. My partner and I immediately entered the house but we made the wrong decision to split up when searching the trailer and my deputy was caught off guard and stabbed repeatedly in his lower left kidney area approximately three or 4 times where the vest was exposed. The suspect was shot twice and killed in response. However my partner died due to bloodloss before ambulance could respond. I blame myself everyday because I made a terrible decision as a corporal and CO
