i wasn't trying to argue, willurameshi, i was only supporting your argument. i was just saying that because society thinks so, it is the norm to value human lives over animal ones, which is simply a weird thing to think (sorry for posting now i kinda forgot to click post)

(for reference about what i said earlier about how animals are killed)
if you think they only filmed the extreme cases, obviously they didn't. this is normal.

Hope is the birth of reality. I'm not even vegan lol. I just admire the idea that is veganism.

You could make the argument that we cultivate fetuses (living organisms) for stem cell research, which certainly happens. It’s something I’m an adamant supporter of, but none the less.

This is a debate about why you believe humans have the right to kill and torture animals. If you eat meat, you do not believe all life should be respected.
Again, you are hinging your side of the debate on intelligence and emotions, are you not?
Again, animals feel pain just as we do. They feel fear just as we do.
Have you ever seen a cat cower in fear?

And again, oceanic mammals have extraordinary comprehension for emotions

1. It needs to be well fed and watered like a good house plant or hunted and ate while it's still thrashing like a lion preying on a gazelle. We need to eat living things to survive in this world. It's not pretty. I have enough empathy for them to want a creature to live peacefully before it's killed but I do not see it as a problem for it to be killed. But to answer your question, roam around freely, being taken care of, and executed quickly.
2, I did not come to debate you. I tried to let you knowbefore that this is purely my answering your inquiry as to why I personally eat meat like the filthy "mouth pleasure" loving "carnie" I am.
3. I would like to see more humane steps in their treatment prior to being on my plate. And I continuously look into supporting farms with a track record for good treatment of their animals. But the animal is dead and knowing that is not gonna stop me from having rotisserie tonight.
4, Maybe it is where you live. Not the case here. I found my options for shopping as well as my pockets increase in size after going back to animal product. You say anecdotes are pointless but my circumstances are different than yours. I reiterate, for over 3 months I tried veganism, listened to tips on less expensive food options all while trying to keep up with all my dietary requirements and I felt terrible and was spending more money. This works for me. It'd be cheap as hell for me to only buy and eat rice for every meal but it is not feasible for me.
5. That situation sucks but again, it is not going to stop me from having my next stake or milkshake. I can see you're trying to appeal to my emotions but it isn't like I haven't thought of this myself. Fact is that while I would prefer more humane treatment it is not going to turn me vegan.

1. So if the Nazi's let the humans become well fed and watered they would have a right to kill them? If a company begins mass breeding dogs to sell to people who like to murder and kill animals, is that ethical because they raised them with love?
2. This is a debate thread you commented on. It's a thread for debates to be held, yet you came here to comment on veganism? This isn't a veganism thread, it's a debate thread.
3. I refer to 1.
4. I shop at walmart. What did you eat? Gardiania? Silk? What did you buy? Where did you shop? What "ethically sourced" meat was cheaper then some boca chicken patties (about 3 bucks for a box of 4). Not to mention you don't need to eat mock meats, it's for taste pleasure and most tend to not be healthy. I dont really understand as meat is a small part of most peoples diets, and i imagine if you already eat healthy your eating beans, grains, and produce. So how is taking meat off the menu going to make it more expensive? Again, "ethically sourced" meat is extremely expensive, so i just cant believe that your buying this amazingly harm free meat and its on a budget
5. Humans are emotional beings. And if you can buy a milkshake guilt free after watching a cow desperately try and get her calve back.....well... *judging*
