anjou-san > nagatoro it's not even a contest, i cant believe nagatoro is so much more popular. the art is beautiful the romance is deeper and not just confined to one liners the mc's designs in anjou-san more closely resemble a gyaru and nerd anjou took interest in seto not because she just 'found him interesting' or 'because he was passionate about something' but because he defended her when some guys were calling her a slut. she knew he was a kind, good guy the fan service is more intense without getting out of control anjous friends are actual friends, and actually nice gyarus anjou is sweet, can cook, has realistic aspirations, stands up for herself and her friends, doesn't let seto get pushed around, and loves cats (even if they don't always love her back) its just a deeper, more down to earth gyaru-teasing-nerd rom com that doesn't get the respect it vastly deserves. https://i.imgur.com/U0Zc8l2.jpg?1

It's my unpopular opinion that all manga writers are given a list of themes that they must base all new stories by as given from their respective publishers. - I mean why else are there all of these anime and comics that seem to be mirror duplicates with only a hair's difference in narrative. - It can't be a coincidence. Some could argue that the most popular version is the TRUE source that all others derived from are trying to copy, but what I keep seeing is a number of shows and books all coming out simultaneously telling the exact same tale. - If it isn't the work of an enemy stand then it can only be a board room meeting with a group of executives telling all authors to include a specific gimmick or narrative trope for that season or year's release.
