"The Worst Generation"

akiraarai
Frankly, our generation is not the worst. Dissimilar to past generations, we have been raised to believe we deserve what's best (This started initially after the baby boomers. Check your history books). Having everything spoon-fed to us like toddlers, people conclude our generation as the worst, at least in terms of people (Economy is a whole new ball game). Wanting the best has structured us divergently. Some of us feel we deserve the best without working towards it, and other's strive to improve upon our society to get to the best. There's two sides to every book here (The same thing happened in older generations). Wanting the best isn't a bad thing. It keeps us moving forward. We think less about the past and more about the future, and we strive to make things easier and better as a result.

Well all I can say is what I've seen growing up. I've seen a TON of fairly narcissistic behavior, stealing from other's in school and selling said stuff before they were caught a day or two later, what seems to be an increase in drug and alcohol use in people of a younger age then what there was in my parents generation (last part based partly on speculation I grant you), for those to whom it matters there's a lot of sexual running about, sadly some of it without any taste for modesty and whatnot and VERY SADLY I saw at an oldies concert (went with family, I've just turned 25) during set up for the next band the concert establishment played Bruno Mars's "Locked Out of Heaven" which if your somewhat familiar with it is a song with him saying that her sex takes him to paradise and I witnessed a young girl who couldn't have been older than 10 years old singing along to the song!!!! I know that kids sometimes like some songs that they are too young to/or should be listening too or can even fully understand, hey even I did with one or two if I remember correctly BUT there's a difference between liking the song (which at such a young age is probably liking the beat and that's how its remembered yada yada) and memorizing the words to it.

I also feel a big part of it is the appreciation of having after not having. What we have now comes from those who didn't have. But there are a lot of young adults who never didn't have. So they take what they have for granted or feel entitled. If anything I feel it's that attitude that may be a large part of the whole "worse generation" thing.

When people look at newer generations. Every generation is worse then theirs. I'm sure when millennials are in their 60's and 70's they'll be bitching about the current future generation. So on and so forth. https://i.ani.me/0192/3453/sequence.jpg
