A different approach to combat harassment towards women

Something I've been noticing lately it's how a big number of the harassers on this site seem to get off wildly from the idea that harassing a girl will eventually shift her values towards you in a positive manner While I don't sympathize particularly with any case, one reccomendation I can give you, is to stop being "a woman" on the internet, and, instead, shift yourself to a different approach. Something that it's very common on videogames, it's that women use male avatars, male names and by all accounts portray themselves as such, making interesting relationships with others and befriending both males and females alike, it's not until they feel ready to reach a new "trust level" with someone that they drop the bomb, "hey I'm actually a woman..." This helps these girls to create lasting bonds without the social burdens that come with being over encumbered by male actions and reactions. This approach should work pretty good for women on the site who regret befriending so many scummy individuals... Would it be cstfhishing? Hardly, unless you purposefully seek to take advantage of it, this is an advice for users who suffer from harassment, perhaps this would help ya with finding a place for yourselves without suffering from it.

OP That's kind of like saying " It's your fault YOU attracted that kind of attention.". A woman should not have to hide in order to avoid ass holes. @siraj_ Chill out.

Thing is, that's the internet in general. So, should all women hide while online? You're still shifting blame on to women vfor being women.

yaasshat @yaasshat Not at all, only until they can differentiate between which individuals will bring them lots of issues and which ones won't. Seeing that certain users here get the same shit every week from a different guy every time just re-affirms that they suck at screening people
