Post your Cats

I had an opportunity to take my new cat to the local veterinarian, but it was not a fun experience for both of us. For starters the vet had a line of people literally wrapped around the building and many more sitting in their vehicle. I wanted to make an appointment, but was told over the phone that it was walk-in only. I arrived around 2:45 pm (14:45) and didn't leave until 6:30 (17:30). While I was waiting to sign in the woman behind me happened to be my ex-girlfriend's grandmother. Given that the relationship ended on poor terms made it rather awkward. It's been years now, however it's still a strained conversation trying not to talk about the elephant in the room, hehe. Fitting for a vet I suppose. What's even more awkward was the fact that I had her granddaughter's cats under my name, so when I went to register this new kitten they asked about the other two. I had to kindly explain that though I had paid for and taken care of my ex's pets they were no longer in my care. I didn't turn around to see the expression of her grandma. Either way, that took care of that matter once and for all l! Then things took a turn for the most dire when an old feeble looking gentleman stumbled through the door with a dying cat wrapped in an old towl squeezed inside a shoebox. The box was soaked with body fluid and it crumpled in his hands causing the man to drop it onto another customer's foot! The poor animal couldn't even move its back legs and was in excruciating pain. Nats were swarming it's lower body attracted to the scent of impending death. All of us were shocked to say the least. This cat in a futile effort to crawl into a corner to die peacefully was disrupted by curious dogs sniffing at it. That's when the old man warned everyone to keep distance because the cat had AIDS. Kind of him to notify everyone after dropping it onto a person in a crowded office! In the end the staff had to perform an emergency euthanizing right there to put it out of its misery. My own cat must have sensed what was going on because she became restless in the carrier. So after the staff cleaned up the dead animal's remains and sanitized the room I then had to wait another 2 hours to finally have my cat examined and given her shots. It was then that I was informed that I had misgendered my cat and it was a she not a he! Haha! In my defense the cat was less than a couple months old when I found it so rookie mistake! That being the case since it's not a boy I changed her name from Ocelot to Miracle given all the recent state of affairs, hah!
