That was also one of my favorite things about the game, making a team of white mages XD I kinda like how the original was broken was a bit more interesting like that. I still like both versions of the game regardless.

It’s more so how dark the story was than the game play. It was just the right kind of edgy for me I guess

The chocobo dying in the intro was jarring. Like chocobos are suppose to be immune to random battles and one gets murdered hard.

Yeah that’s a big part of what made it pretty dark. The ending to the game on the first play through is like one of the saddest endings in any of the games

Story-wise, either 7 or 8, combat-wise, 15 or 7 Remake. If it weren't for the subscription, 14 would top both for me.
