Thoughts on Live Action Disney remakes

mmmm fresh prince is still one of my favorite sitcoms so its hard to say, but i dont really like him he feels one note in everything hes in, and in his more recent work he just comes off as a dick (like in bright)

I hear Robin Williams in aladdin and I don't really see the godly big shoes to fill. From my perspective is just nostalgia. And maybe I got the perspective because I didn't grow with Robin Williams voice. It's not in my nostalgia folder. Will Smith did a good job.

didnt think id see two people who actually liked his performance xD i dont see aladdin through rose tinted glasses as i never binge watched it as a kid, i just think his voice and performance were dynamite but, hey, im glad you took joy from something i can >w>/ funny story, disney actually fucked over robin williams during the promotion for aladdin, purposefully going against his wishes and sabatoshing his passion project he never did forgive disney, who even offered him a million dollar painting as a (apology) gift its the reason why he didnt return to voice the genie in the sequel movie and the cartoon, who was instead voiced by homer simpson

I've seen a lot of people "wanting to hate blue will smith but actually enjoying his performance at the end", so I don't know how rare it is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i watch a lot of disney/pixar channels and every single one shat all over the movie the parts of it i did see everyone looks dead/bored, like they didnt want to be there

That's a shame about Robin Williams Lamby, I honestly never knew that Disney screwed him over.... >_> Either way, nothing can ever replace Robin Williams. The man had boundless amounts of energy that no one could ever reproduce. I remember hearing stories like during the set that he'd make the film crew laugh to lighten up the atmosphere. I don't actually know if I'd ever re-watch the live action version of Aladdin again, but still I'd find myself re-watching the original taking nostalgia aside. It had beautiful Disney animation, memorable songs, and it tried to be different at the time. It has that similar charm that Hercules had.(For the record, I actually like that Disney film a lot even if the Greek Mythology isn't accurate) Also, about that comment I made earlier and how "I'll make a man out of you" is the greatest disney song ever made. It might not have been obvious, but I was pretty much kidding about that just so everyone knows. Although, I will say It's one of the disney songs I do really like in the movie. My reflection is a stronger song though... I actually re-watched the original Mulan very recently and it's still one of my favorite Disney movies. But, I'm open to see what they'll do with the live action version. Maybe it'll be more historically accurate? Who knows?
