Thoughts on Live Action Disney remakes

^ unless your a big classic disney fan i agree, they arent worth seeing (unless you got kids who might wanna see it ofcourse)

The thing is, if a person wants to hate Will Smith's performance, they will find a reason to hate it regardless if he did a carbon copy of Robin WIlliams, or if he put his own spin on it, like what he did. If he mimicked Williams', haters would have said he's just copying the original, and if he did his own tune the same people just say it's not as spunky as Williams'. And I honestly thought I'd fall into that demographic... but by the end of "Friend Like Me" I started to warm up to what Will Smith was putting out. And I literally WANTED to hate his genie xD People like different flavors. Some people think "I'll make a man out of you" is the best Disney song ever. Some people think Pocahontas sucks simply cuz it's not historically accurate. Some people think Hunchback of Notre Dame was a bad film. Some people are happy Ariel is gonna be black.

@lamby I've watched many of the disney classics.. heck I grew up with them... so I srsly don't wanna ruin dat image with the trash pile that they are producing to squeeze more money out of those old classics...

"My problem isn't that he wasn't Robin Williams" *posts video comparing him to Robin Williams* edit: tho to be fair, that video of his performance of "Prince Ali" originally added fuel to my anti-Will Smith genie fire, cuz it does sound awful. However, the second half of that performance, which isn't on youtube, is waaaaaay better than the flat vocals in the first half.

When the debate becomes ice cream it no longer becomes a debate... Tbh shouldn’t the focus that Disney May have would be to bring back reusable IPs as they try and rexpand into their global market or something? Tbh I really am starting to get bored of like these “above average” 5-7/10 stuff in general. The only thing I heard the most amount of super good praise even from friends who are critical of things was like Spiderverse
